Sky Wizards Academy Season 2 is definitely in the works and we can’t wait to see what happens in the future. The show was a lot of fun and we hope that it will be back soon.

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan, popularly known as Sky Wizards Academy, originated as a light novel series back in 2013 with the harem genre. Written by Yū Moroboshi and illustrated by Yuka Nakajima, the LN became quite popular during its run until 2017. Later it was also adapted into manga series from 2014 until 2016. Studio Diomedia released an anime adaptation in July 2015, which aired for twelve episodes till September of that year. The studio also launched an OVA episode in March 2016. Now, are there any possibilities for this anime?

Sky Wizard Academy Season 1: Recap Story

The story is based in an alternate universal future land. Some humans who were banished from the earth have come there and they have built castles in the air. Magical insects like creatures had driven these humans out of the earth and they also reached this aerial land that the humans have built.

Kanata Age is a young man who lives in the floating wizard academy city of Misutogan. He is portrayed as the best swordsman in the town and gets called Black Master Swordsman. Though he retired after getting injured. His fellow swordsmen insulted him and called him a coward for not being aware of the entire situation.

Since he stopped fighting because of this injury and had nothing to do, he started passing on his knowledge about military experience and all the skills that he possessed to other people by teaching them. Girls were usually considered the weakest and worthless in the military so he started teaching and training those girls. The plotline shows the relationship between the trainee girls and the trainer who has a very complicated life.

Sky Wizard Academy Season 2: Renewal Status

Season 1’s finale left us hanging with plenty of cliffhangers. Studio Diomedia is yet to complete the story of the anime in the second season. However, they still haven’t planned to renew the sequel. Despite heavy demands, Sky Wizards Academy Season 2 might never hit the screens because the first season did not go as well as expected. The debut season was criticized by half of its viewers and critics alike. On top of that, it wasn’t a commercial hit either.

On the other hand, being an anime adaptation, Sky Wizards Academy Season 2 might struggle to get the green signal from any studio. Unlike western television shows, anime adaptations rarely return for a second round. They only run as long as they can promote their source material.

Sadly, the Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan manga ended years ago in July 2017. This might cause issues in the renewal of Sky Wizards Academy Season 2. However, if enough fans sign petitions in the sequel’s support, they might be able to save it from cancellation.

Sky Wizard Academy Season 2: Release Date

Another consideration that plays an important role in an anime adaptation’s renewal is the amount of source material available. Well, fortunately, Diomedia has more than enough content to produce Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan Season 2. Out of fourteen manga volumes, the first season only covered the first few. Hence, there is enough source material for the new season.

If fans manage to save the anime, its new episodes would only take a couple of years. However, they might need to wait longer for the renewal. As of now, Diomedia is yet to make any official statements about the future of Sky Wizards Academy Season 2. Well, even if the green flag comes right now, the second season might not premiere anytime before early 2023. Probably they will release another OVA? Who knows.
