CRUNCHYROLL’S THE RISING OF THE SHIELD HERO SEASON 3 ENGLISH DUB RELEASE DATE
Crunchyroll’s The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 English Dub release date has not been announced. The Shield Hero English dub has been released on the same day that new episodes in Japan were released. However, Shield Hero was delayed due to a delay in the dubbing process. The Shield Hero Season 2 dub released several weeks after its original premiere. The hope is that the Shield Hero Season 3 dub will be able to keep up with Simuldub’s same-day schedule.
The Shield Hero Season 2 dub featured English, Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese as well as French, German, Russian, and German.
THE RISING OF THE SHIELD HERO MANGA/LIGHT NOVEL COMPARED TO THE ANIME

No release date for Rising of the Shield Hero Volume 23 has been announced. Because the author is currently working on several projects simultaneously, the next book may take longer than usual.
In 2015, fan-made English translations of the web novel were finished. One Peace Books also licensed the official English translation of the Shield Hero light novels series in 2015. As of December 21, 2021, the English translation is up to Volume 22.
Although there are some similarities between web novels and light novels, the light novel series is making things more interesting by changing the direction of the plot. The fan-favorite Mad Scientist Naofumi story was replaced with a new story in the light novels version.
Light novels added characters and major changes to the story, but kept the core elements of its plot intact. The biggest divergence between the web novel and the manga is in Volume 4, which contains the Cal Mira Island story arc. This also marks the end of the first season of the anime. The story’s underdeveloped parts were reworked from that point, making later plot developments more logical.

The Shield Hero light novels could offer a different ending, much like the Overlord light novel. The conclusion of the web novel was open-ended. However, the last chapters were more like a side story. It’s still not as long as Arifureta’s web novel. The after story is already longer than the main storyline.
The web novel’s light novel adaptation is popular with fans. The main difference lies in the narrative tone, which is similar to the Sword Art Online light novel. It is written from Naofumi’s first-person perspective.
Naofumi, a web novel, is extremely bitter. Perhaps it’s just a realistic way of putting it? In all his interactions, Naofumi’s web novel is extremely bitter (perhaps even realistically so). Light novel Naofumi, however, is much more relaxed. He’s not angry anymore because of all the trauma he has experienced. But he isn’t an Arifureta Edgelord that should be called out as a Chuuni.
It’s not all rainbows and sunshine in the light novel series. The books have Naofumi as the narrator. There’s plenty of inner monologue that shows how Naofumi sees the world and his feelings of rage.
Naofumi, a light novel character, knows what is coming to him so his attitude was a bit harsh. The anime, however, showed his emotional state after Malty’s betrayal. Her actions are what caused Naofumi to lose his original personality. He became a dark, cynical man who is willing to slave labor to build his party.

Aiya KYU, manga artist, began adapting the story from the light novel series to The Rising Of The Shield Hero manga. The Shield Hero manga was published monthly in two to three volumes per year. As of February 2022, 20 volumes had been produced.
As of February 15, 2022, the English translation of Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari’s manga has reached Volume 17. The English Volume 18 manga will be published on June 14, 2022.
Although the manga version follows light novels’ plot, it skips slice-of-life parts to get straight to the action. The manga is more fluid as it skips over the boring plot points. However, this change can be detrimental to character.
Many manga readers also agree that the manga is better than the anime’s first season, particularly Episode 21, where Naofumi was finally granted sweet justice against Malty and her dad. Because the manga version was more aggressive, the anime version changed Naofumi’s character.
The anime version of Naofumi was not hot-blooded or petty. Instead, he put aside his ego to forge a selfless path for betterment of the kingdom which united everyone behind a common cause. Although this episode featured Naofumi as more heroic, it is possible to argue that the manga offers a greater emotional reward for readers.

It is not uncommon for anime staff writers to condense the story into a short series. However, this does not mean that certain details will be skipped in order to accommodate the season and the episode length. Although changes may be necessary for marketability, anime studios prefer to keep the original story intact.
The first season of anime adapts the story to the length of light novel Volume 6. This corresponds with manga Volume 11. Readers who want to jump ahead of the anime adaptation may read light novel Volume 6 and manga Volume 12.
The problem with the ending of the first season was that it skipped Lecia Ivyred’s story. This eccentric character was the hero in the ocean battle against Glass because of her quick thinking about the lucholberry barrels. However, the anime made many adjustments.
Even her name was changed from Rishia, to Lecia by the anime. Many chapters of manga Volume 11 and the first half light novel Volume 6 revealed the reason she was in suicidal despair. The anime, however, skimmed the highlights quickly, which greatly diminished the emotional impact.
Worse, Lecia’s most beloved character element was removed by the anime. Lecia is known for her full-body furry suits! Lecia was actually wearing a Santa hat and a squirrel suit during the Cal Mira Island Battle. A penguin suit was also worn by Lecia.

Although no explanation was given for these changes, perhaps Kinema Citrus staff felt that this character was too eccentric? The cosplay costumes were brought back by Shield Hero S2.
The Rising Of The Shield Hero season 4 is the most significant change since the premiere. Although Naofumi received a lordship in the end and rebuilt Raphtalia’s town, that scene was not present in the original timeline until Volume 10. To compensate, Shield Hero Season 4 must be modified.

The anime series’ second season was a disaster. It was obvious that the series was speedrunning the source material. In a rush for the big confrontation with Kyo, the first six episodes of season 2 quickly skipped through the Spirit Tortoise episode.
This meant that light novel Volumes 6 & 7 were adapted by three episodes each. This was nearly twice the pacing adaptation that Anime Geeks had predicted before the second season started. The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 episode 7 continued the story in light novel Volume 8, and introduced new characters such as Kizuna Kazayma.

Even worse, the episode violated canon by having small Raphtalia present with Naofumi. Raphtalia was supposed to be taken from Naofumi with Filo. Raphtalia should not be in Shield Hero S2EP7 with Naofumi.
Raphtalia was instead supposed to be taken to Glass’s World. It is a twist in the light novel that Raphtalia became a Vassal hero, and was awarded the Vassal Katana. She thus became the Katana Hero.
Naofumi also became anxious and decided to focus on Filo and Raphtalia again. This was an important moment in Naofumi’s character development.
Naofumi’s dark personality was brought out again during the time of light novel Volume 8. He had been slowly healing from Malty’s treachery, but Volume 8 saw Naofumi’s darker and more cynical personality start to emerge.
Naofumi’s anxious state actually led to the creation of a new character. Naofumi combined Raphtalia’s hair with his blood to create the Shikigami familiar Raph-chan in both manga and books. This character was made to find Raphtalia. Therefore, the anime will have to give Raph-chan a reason for existence.
This change could have been made to make it easier to condense the story. The original story was told from many perspectives. Characters moved independently while visiting new countries and meeting new people. It’s difficult to adapt this story into a few episodes.

It is possible, however, that Raphtalia was simply a popular character and producers didn’t want Raphtalia to disappear for too much of the season. It also serves as an excuse to show Raphtalia, the child, back on our TV screens. The light novels didn’t explore Raphtalia as a character’s progress as much as they could so this change could be seen as positive, depending on how it’s done.
It is predicted that the finale of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 Episode 13 will reach a point similar to the end of Volume 9 light novel.
It’s the perfect ending point despite the adaptation pacing issues. Light novel Volumes 6-9 are self-contained stories.
The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 3 must adapt Volumes 10-12 of the following books. These three books share a similar theme to the Rebuilding and Fallen Heroes themes. Shield Hero S3 will be able to stop at the Wrath Dragon and Bow Hero arcs involving Malty.
There is plenty of material available to make more anime seasons. The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 4 should be started with Volumes 14 & 15, as they share a story arc on Raphtalia’s Heavenly Emperor and Q’ten Lo.

Unfortunately, this is not good news for Shield Hero manga fans who want to continue reading. The manga series hadn’t yet finished adapting the story arcs from the light novel Volumes 8-9, which means that the anime’s second-season caught up to the manga and even surpassed it.
THE RISING OF THE SHIELD HERO SEASON 2 – NEW WORLD ARC
The anime was shown in Shield Hero Season 2 Episode 6. Naofumi and his comrades tracked down Kyo and confronted them. If Ost’s sacrificial acts had not been performed, it seemed that the battle to the death with Kyo would have ended in tragedy. Naofumi decimates the Spirit Tortoise core, and Kyo escapes to his own world while taking some of the energy.
Naofumi tries to follow Kyo’s retreat, but he wakes up in prison! Kyo was able to separate Naofumi from Rishia/Lecia, leaving them trapped in a labyrinth dimension. Even worse, Naofumi discovers that his skills and experience are reset to level 1.

As the Hunting Hero, Kizuna Kazeyama, the legendary hero, is introduced. Her weapon restricts her to hurting monsters but not humans. She was trapped in the labyrinth dimension because of this limitation.
Kizuna, a friend of Glass, is also from the Second world. Kizuna doesn’t approve of killing heroes from other worlds in order to save her homeworld. She believes heroes are needed for another reason.
Naofumi, Rishia/Lecia, and Kizuna are able escape the labyrinth to find Raphtalia and Filo as well as Glass, L’arc and Therese with the support of Kizuna. Kizuna is glad to be back with her long-lost friend, but she also punished Glass for trying to kill Naofumi or other legendary heroes. They encounter an enemy Naofumi refers to as Trash #2.
They reunite everyone and set out to find Kyo, stop him from using the Spirit Tortoise’s energy for evil purposes, and get rid of him. They must first deal with Yomogi Emarl (a young female samurai) who is a childhood friend to the tyrannical Kyro.
Yomogi trusts her friends deeply and is a strong believer in justice. She doesn’t know that Kyo is manipulating her to fight his enemies. But Yomogi will see through his schemes?

THE RISING OF THE SHIELD HERO SEASON 3 SPOILERS: PLOT SUMMARY/SYNOPSIS
Note: This article assumes Shield Hero Season 3 will begin with Volume 10 of the light novel. It is possible that the second season’s pace will differ from what you expected. Once the final episode of the second season airs, this article will be updated.
Last time we saw Naofumi and Raphtalia, Filo and their gang, Kyo had been defeated and they were free from the other dimension. After saving the world from the Spirit Tortoise’s rampaging, the queen Melromarc decides that Naofumi should be rewarded once more.
Naofumi gets his own land so he can build a settlement. He also decides to rebuild Raphtalia’s home. This plot development was already covered in the anime’s first episode. The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 3 will expand on it.
It’s not like Naofumi can live a peaceful life. Naofumi is invited by Zeltoble to visit the country of mercenaries, which is famous for its Coliseum. Teams and fighters compete. Bets are made and heroes are permitted to take part.
Under all the glamour and sport-like battles, there is a hidden market for slaves in the Coliseum basement. To free Raphtalia’s demi-human slaves, the Shield Hero must compete in a Coliseum tournament.

They meet Sadeena, an old friend from Raphtalia’s, while they are at the Coliseum. Sadeena, a strong woman who had protected Raphtalia’s village as a child, was absent fishing when the fateful Wave struck that claimed Raphtalia and her parents. Sadeena returned to Raphtalia’s village, but Raphtalia had been taken into slavery and was still missing.
Raphtalia as well as Sadeena are both disguised so that they don’t recognize each other until the Coliseum. Naofumi buys the slave contract for Zeltoble after the Coliseum adventure is over.
Raphtalia may view Sadeena as an older sister but they start to have friction when they return to the village with the slaves freed. Sadeena believes her man must be able to drink more than she, so after Naofumi beat her in an alcohol-drinking competition, she decided to marry him. Naofumi doesn’t like Naofumi’s blatant flirting but it doesn’t stop the angry raccoon sounds from erupting.
Season 3 of Shield Hero will focus mainly on Naofumi’s efforts to find the Spear Hero and Sword Hero as well as the Bow hero. He will he be able force other Legendary Heroes into accepting reality?

Naofumi organises a manhunt in order to capture the Spear Hero Motoyasu, but he stumbles upon another tragedy involving Malty or the Sword Hero. Even worse, Naofumi is targeted by assassins.
After defeating yet more invaders from another planet, Naofumi is able to make peace with Ren Amaki, the Sword Hero. Naofumi’s group is happy with their first victory and decides to return to the Coliseum in order to improve their fighting skills.
Itsuki Kawasumi is the Bow Hero and they are shocked to see him fighting in the Coliseum while hiding under an alias… he has been cursed. The curse-corrupted Bow Hero will need to be dealt with by a powerful witch.
THE RISING OF THE SHIELD HERO SEASON 3: WHERE TO WATCH
Although it is not confirmed, it is almost certain that The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 will be available on Crunchyroll. This is due to the series’ investment.
After being suggested for adaptation, the popular anime streaming site is recognized as part of the production team on the first season Shield Hero. Crunchyroll’s Expo event also revealed the second and third seasons.

The episode count of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 is not yet confirmed. It is expected that Shield Hero Season 3 would have 13 episodes. This number is the same as Season 2.
This expectation can be explained by the fact that season 2 and 3 were simultaneously announced. It’s unlikely Shield Hero season 3 will not be a series of similar events.
Following the negative reactions to Shield Hero 2 by some fans, it may be possible to suggest a single-cour run. It’s unlikely that such reactions will influence a season, which, we believe, has been pre-planned.
