The Joker is one of the most popular and well-known villains in comics and movies. He has been featured in over 100 stories, movies, and games. Some fans are beginning to wonder when the next Joker movie will be released. There is no set release date for Joker 2, but it is likely that it will be released sometime in 2020 or 2021. The reason for this delay is unknown, but some believe that the movie may be pushed back because of the current political climate. The Joker has been a popular character for years because he is unpredictable and dangerous. While there are no set release dates for Joker 2, fans can rest assured that it will be released eventually.
French idiom translates to “madness of two” and describes a delusional disorder that is shared by two people. It’s a lot like Harley Quinn and the Joker.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lady Gaga is being approached to play Harley Quinn. Gaga’s possible casting opens the possibility that Todd Phillips, director of Todd Phillips, could reinvent Harley’s character rather than sticking to the DC comics source material or following Robbie’s storyline.
The film, which told Gotham’s backstory, received 12 Oscar nominations. It also won Phoenix Best Actor.
This dark thriller was originally intended to be a one-off. But after making a billion dollars and winning an Oscar for Joaquin Phoenix’s performance, it’s not surprising that there is a sequel.
Scott Silver, co-author of Joker with Phillips is back for the sequel. However, plot details are still being kept under wraps.
Joker 2 release date speculation
There is not yet an Joker2 release date , but the director confirmed that the project is underway.
Joker 2 will be released sometime in 2023, judging by the release date for the first Joker film. This was a year after the script was written.
Who is Joker 2’s cast?
Phoenix will return once more to reprise his role as Joker/Arthur Fleck.
He was critically acclaimed for his portrayal as the DC villain.
Other than Phoenix, there are no confirmed cast members.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Lady Gaga is being considered to play Harley Quinn in the sequel to Joker. This movie is said to be a musical.
Gaga’s casting could open the door for Todd Phillips to recast Harley, instead of sticking with the DC comics source material or following Margot Robbie’s version of Harley in Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad films.
As Sophie Dumond, Zazie Beetz is expected to make a comeback.
As Arthur killed Penny and Murray in the first film, it is unlikely that Robert De Niro or Frances Conroy will be returning as Murray and Penny.
Willem Dafoe eager to star in Joker 2

Willem Dafoe, the Spider-Man: No Way Home actor, expressed an interest in appearing as an imposter pretending he is the Clown Prince Of Crime in a sequel.
He said GQ, “There’s something interesting about it, like if there were a Joker imposter. It would be possible for Jokers to not be dueling, but someone who [claims] they are the Joker.
“And that opens up the possibility for an interesting story, especially if Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker was used, and then you had someone imitating or riffing on what he did. That was what I fantasized about. Other than that, I don’t talk to anyone [about it]. You’re the first.”
You all know that I am a Joker.
What might happen in Joker 2
Arthur Fleck, who had gone through Gotham City after his embarrassing appearance on Murray Franklin’s talk show, was transformed into his full Batman villain self at the end of Joker.
The film ended with Arthur at Arkham State Hospital. He left behind bloody footprints after his psychotherapy session.
We know for certain that the Clown Prince Of Crime would become Batman’s greatest nemesis. There’s plenty of scope to explore Arthur’s villainous character and actions.
Bruce Wayne was only seen as a child in Joker. This seemed to be an intentional move to keep Arthur’s attention. A sequel would surely have to introduce an antagonist for Fleck.
Joker 2 is just a placeholder for a movie that hasn’t been confirmed yet. CinemaBlend speculates that Arthur might not be in the sequel.
They suggest Phillips could follow a similar approach as American Horror Story or Fargo and focus on a Gotham villain in each film. Instead, Phillips would explore the backstories of different characters in an anthology.
Joker 2 could take any direction. We’ll keep this page updated with any new information as it becomes available.

Joker 2 plot
We don’t know much about the plot, except what we can see from the title (which was already mentioned). Arthur’s transformation into the villainous eponymous character was complete at the end of the first Jokerfilm.
Arthur is seen in Arkham State Hospital’s final scene. He was probably taken into custody after the riots which decimated Gotham City were stopped by police. He dances down the hospital corridor, leaving behind red footprints (presumably after he killed the doctor who was treating him).
Joker was reportedly creating a new “label” within the Worlds of DC to allow movies to be made that weren’t in the main timeline but still featured their existing characters. This way continuity wasn’t an issue, as the latest Batman movie appears to have done.
Another critical question is who will be the antagonist to Arthur in the Joker 2nd movie. The foil to Joker in the first movie was actually himself in many ways. The film’s core was his transformation from a normal citizen to a full-on murderer. Where do we go next? Is there any further development for Joker?
