Fans of the Star Wars saga have been eagerly awaiting the release of Season 2 of the Bad Batch, which is set to air on December 17th. However, there is still no release date for the season. The Bad Batch is an anthology series that tells different stories set in the Star Wars universe. Season 1 was released in 2016 and it was well-received by fans. Season 2 will be a continuation of the story lines from Season 1, but it will also include new characters and storylines. So far, there has been no announcement about who will be appearing in Season 2 or what new storylines will be featured. Season 2 was originally announced on posters in the fall 2022. However, Disney+ announced the exact release date just a few days later. Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be released on September 28, 2022. It will contain 16 episodes and will likely follow the same weekly Wednesday release schedule as other Star Wars shows. The Bad Batch Season 2 will be released during the Andor release and continue through Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi.
This series, as with all Star Wars content will only be available on Disney+. Disney+ just expanded its international service, so that everyone can access their favorite Star Wars content.
What do we know about Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2?
Star Wars Celebration provided a lot of information and a trailer for the series. The additional trailer indicates that The Bad Batch will work with Gungi and is also looking for new allies (another Ahsoka appearance perhaps?). The real star of the trailer is Commander Cody’s return after Order 66.
Commander Cody was one of the few clones that were featured in the original movies. Temuera Morrison played him in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He was Obi Wan Kenobi’s commander, and worked closely alongside Captain Rex and the Bad Batch during the war. Cody was left in a position unknown after Disney removed the expanded universe content. Cody was known for his loyalty and will be deciding whether he will work with Crosshair for Crosshair or defect to the Bad Batch.

The search for meaning is another theme teased by Star Wars Celebration panel members for The Bad Batch. The Bad Batch, which are clones of the original Bad Batch, was formed to fight against a government no longer in existence. This mindset shift can be seen in Bad Batch’s armor, which no longer has their unit insignia. But that is only one change we can observe. Echo and the other clones have shifted from protecting Omega as a civilian to training her as part. Omega has finally received a helmet. The writers hint that Echo might take on a leadership role and train Omega as a soldier. Omega is now a soldier like the Bad Batch.
Who is in Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Cast?
The Bad Batch has a limited cast, but that’s due to the exceptional talent of Dee Bradley Baker, the voice actor. He voices every clone, which means that the Bad Batch’s five members are all voiced by the same actor. Although it sounds strange, his ability to make each clone different with their vocal patterns, inflections, and other details makes it an incredible performance.
Michelle Ang will be playing the role of Omega, Star Wars’ only female Jango Fett Clone. Rhea Perlman, the snarky mercenary godmother Cid, will also be reprising her role. We don’t know for sure at this time, but there are rumors Ming-Na Wen could reprise her role of Fennec Shand. We can also expect Dave Filoni continuing his tradition of appearing in cameos between series.

“The Bad Batch” was created by Dave Flioni (the cowboy-hat-wearing Lucasfilm Animation boss). He started as George Lucas’ protege for “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” but has since grown to be a key architect for “The Mandalorian”, and its spinoffs. Believe me when I say that the man can talk about Star Wars like it’s his business. Filoni has far less involvement in “The Bad Batch,” than he was with “Clone Wars”, and “Star Wars Rebels.”
The team behind “The Batch Bad,” season 1, was a great team. Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett, story editor Matt Michnovetz, and Jennifer Corbett were the supervising directors and executive producers. They created a distinctive personality that matched the show’s visuals, which are better than any other CGI-animated “Star Wars”. Lucasfilm has confirmed that the entire gang will be back for season 2. This should give them the confidence to tell their stories after having survived their trial by fire.
The Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Trailer

Bad Batch connects all these dots while telling the heartfelt story about veterans searching for their place in the world, and helping a young woman grow up (we hope).
