The release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 is not yet known, but it is expected to come out in 2019.
The excitement surrounding Obi-Wan Kenobi is palpable. Ewan McGregor’s return as Obi-Wan was a major selling point for Disney+. Hayden Christensen played both Anakin Skywalker, and Darth Vader. While not all characters and stories resonated with audiences the series delivered what it set out for: to show the world what became of the Jedi Master and his former apprentice.
Obi-Wan can now return to Tatooine, where he can continue his peaceful existence. There are nine years of stories between the end of season 1 and the beginning of A New Hope. This means that there is always the possibility of Obi-Wan Kenobi a second season.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 Recap
This series is set ten years after all Jedi were killed by Emperor Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith. We see Obi-Wan, an elderly Jedi, living in Tatooine as exile, and watching from afar Luke Skywalker, his aunt Beru, and uncle Owen. Senator Bail Organa suddenly calls on him. The Inquisitors are an elite group of Jedi who have turned to serve the Empire and are on the hunt for Jedi Order survivors. They are determined to find Master Kenobi.
Daiyu
The Inquisitors then devise a plan for Obi-Wan to be lured out of exile by kidnapping a young Princess Leia. They succeed. Bail Organa and his spouse call Obi-Wan to help them, and they set out to rescue Leia. After seeing the Inquisitors’ actions in Tatooine, Kenobi decides to retrieve his Jedi gear and lightsaber. Kenobi then sets off to Daiyu’s city-planet, where he meets Haja Estree, a swindler who will assist him. He meets Leia, and begins to recognize some of her father’s traits in her bravado.
First, Leia is skeptical about Kenobi’s intentions. She doesn’t obey his orders, and this leads to a horrible fight on the rooftops. Obi-Wan isn’t willing to use his force power to reveal his location for the inquisitors. Leia does not believe she is a Jedi. However, when she falls from a cliff, he must use the force to slow her fall. At that point, Leia is convinced that he is a Jedi and starts to trust him. The two of them form a strong bond.
Mapuzo
They track them down to a spaceport but the Inquisitors make it out just in time to Mapuzo. Reva is ordered by Vader to locate Kenobi in Mustafar’s fortress. If she succeeds, Vader promises to make her Grand Inquisitor. Leia and Kenobi are transported to Mapuzo by a transport that flies over the surface of the mining planet Mapuzo. From there, they travel to Haja’s rendezvous. After finding no one, they take a ride in an Imperial vehicle.
They are found and Imperial troops dispatched to capture them. They are assisted by Tala (a female Imperial officer who is part of the Path underground network that hides dissidents as well as outlaws being pursued by Imperial troops). She takes them to an underground passageway. Darth Vader, the Inquisitors and other inquisitors arrive before they can depart and start torturing innocent people to lure Kenobi. While he acts as a distraction, Kenobi sends Leia ahead and Tala behind. Vader confronts Kenobi, who uses his Force choke against him to defeat him and burns him. Tala acts as a distraction, but Reva captures Leia.
Infiltrating Fortress Inquisitorius
After fleeing Vader on Mapuzo, Kenobi and Tala arrive on Jabiim at a Path facility. Leia, whom Reva is interrogating now for information about the Path, is currently being held on Fortress Inquisitorius. This is the Inquisitors headquarters on Nur. To rescue Leia, Kenobi and Tala plan to infiltrate this fortress.
Reva Survives
Kenobi enters the vault and discovers the remains of Jedi killed or captured, as well as a Youngling. Leia is saved by them, but Tala is outed and their presence is discovered. They eventually escape with the help of Path commander Roken, his guerilla troops, and finally get away. Vader, furious at the events of the day plans to kill Reva. She is saved by the fact that she revealed to Vader that she had attached a tracker, Lola’s companion, to Leia in anticipation of a rescue.
The Inquisitors are the main antagonists of this series.
Tatooine
Reva is searching for Luke on Tatooine while Vader chases Kenobi in his Star Destroyer. Kenobi decides to leave the group after realizing that there is no way for the Path out. He fights Vader on his own and injures Vader’s helmet while on a distant planet. After concluding Anakin can’t be saved, Kenobi abandons Vader. Reva arrives at Owen’s farm, and begins fighting with Beru and Owen. She follows Luke into a desert, but she is unable to kill the latter and returns him to his family. Kenobi congratulates her for defeating the Dark Side.
Alderaan
Leia, back on Alderaan has reaffirmed her commitment to her duties as a princess. Leia is sadly said goodbye by Kenobi, who assures the Organas he will help when needed. He assures Owen when he returns from Tatooine that he will allow Luke to grow up as any other boy, and is then allowed to meet Luke for the first-time. After achieving inner peace, he can finally see and communicate with Qui-Gon Jinn the force ghost of his dead master. A restored Vader gives up his search for Kenobi at Mustafar after the Emperor questions his loyalty and motives.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2, Possible Plotlines
We can expect to see Obi-Wan’s relationship with Qui-Gon Jinn, and his interaction with Leia Organa in the second season of the series. We could also see Reva’s story unfold. The second season could also expand the reach of the Galactic Empire to the rest the universe. The possibility of a second season is very unlikely, given the limitations in the canon and timeline for Obi Wan’s exile from Tatooine.
Maybe the writers could just skip this step and go back in time, like with Clone Wars or something similar. The sky is the limit for Star Wars and Disney when it comes milking that cow! This information will be kept in mind. We will keep an eye out for any new information and post an update.
Who Will The Cast Of Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 ?
Ewan McGregor will be reprising his role as Obi Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen playing Anakin Skywalker/Darth vader if the series is renewed. The rest of the cast could be seen playing Reva and Uncle Owen by Joel Edgerton. Also, Bonnie Piesse as Aunt Beru. Jimmy Smits will reprise his role of Bail Organa. We should also expect new cast members due to the possibility of a new plot.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Release date
First, Obi-Wan Kenobi aired on May 27, 2022. It ended on June 22, 2022. There were six episodes, each lasting between 1 and 48 minutes. Here is what we know so far. Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2, as it was originally intended, won’t be available.
The series was also intended to gauge interest in a spin-off film about the Jedi Master. The series was then completed in one season. If you stick to the Star Wars canon, Obi-Wan’s adventures don’t end for long. After his last adventure, he goes into exile, just before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope.

Obi-Wan, a true hermit, lived a life away from society when the ObiWan Kenobi series started. His lightsaber was buried after he had separated himself from the Force. By A New Hope, Obi-Wan has his lightsaber and Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber back. Star Wars Fans already know that Obi Wan fights and kills Maul at Tatooine in the period before A New Hope. It would be fascinating to see his life up until that point.

Obi Wan Kenobi took three years from announcement to release. This includes script problems and the pandemic’s effect. It could be released within two years if Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 happens, possibly by spring 2024. However, it is necessary for Disney+ and Lucasfilm to announce an early renewal.
