John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to release on May 15th, 2019.
Although we knew about the fourth installment since the opening week John Wick: Chapter 3 Parabellum, we now know much more and can share it with you. While we know John Wick will return with more violence and showdowns, smouldering gazes into the camera, as well as guns, there is still much mystery about what to expect.
We’ve compiled everything we know about the Johnwick 4 release date, plot and the cast who will be joining one of the most prolific assassins in the world. Fans have waited a while since John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum was released in 2019, but we are happy to announce John’s return in this highly anticipated franchise.
WHAT IS THE JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 RELEASE DATED ?
John Wick Chapter 4 will be in cinemas March 24, 2023. In December 2021, an announcement video revealed this. Initially scheduled for 2021. At one point, John Wick: Chapter 4 was reportedly in line for same-day release. However, due to a host of Covid-related delays, it has been rescheduled for 2021.
Lionsgate, in true John Wick fashion sent fans who signed up for an exclusive text service, a message letting them know that they are back in business. It said: “Consider it a professional service.” John Wick: Chapter 4 has now been produced.
It was also shared with the image of an empty chair for a director, which was captioned on social media: “Anybody got pencil sharpener?” John Wick: Chapter 4 has now started production.
“We are also busy preparing scripts to the next two installments of our John Wick action series,” John Feltheimer (CEO of Lionsgate), stated in an earnings call in 2020. So, double John Wick. What more could you ask for? Triple? I suppose.
It seems that the delay has given the production more time for reshoots. Reeves was able to complete the majority of principal production in 2021. However, new photos from New York show Reeves with his co-star Ian McShane. It remains to be seen what impact these last reshoots have on the plot.
WHAT IS THE JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 PLOT ?
John Wick was first seen in 2014. He was an assassin who had been retired to revenge his dog. John Wick Chapter 2 – He had to fulfill an old blood oath. In John Wick: Chapter 2 – Parabellum, he had to fight the High Table. So what’s next?
Chapter 3 ended with John Wick, who was severely injured, being taken by The Tick Tock Man to an underground bunker to Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne), and where they agreed to their shared anger at High Table.
Winston (Ian McShane), who hoped to be manager of The Continental and remain in good standing with The High Table, left John for dead. In Chapter 4, we see the possibility of John Wick and Bowery King joining forces.
We know the crew has been on location in France and New York, so expect plenty of intercontinental brawling.
Collider was told by Chad Stahleski that the film would serve as a sort of conclusion to the series.
Stahleski stated that Chapter 4 was a great continuation of the three films and has a little bit of a conclusion. “We introduce tons of new characters that have much to say about John Wick’s past and present. It’s brotherhood and hope, I believe. This is what John’s life would look like if he had an existential crisis. I think that’s part of the movie’s fun.

The John-Wild: Chapter 4 cast have clearly been busy casting with many names to add to IMDb’s ever-growing list of new and returning actors.

“I have read the script. It’s really, really awesome. It’s the same world, but it’s deeper,” Laurence Fishburne stated about the script during an interview with Collider. It’s deeper in terms the code of assassination and the relationship that he shares with one character, which I believe Mr. Watanabe plays, is truly the heart and soul.
Collider however confirmed that Watanabe was supposedly the name for a character in this film and not the name a cast member. Ken Watanabe, for instance, is an example of Ken Watanabe of The Last Samurai.

Bill Skarsgard spoke out about his casting in the role of Cod [Stahelski] and he met me a few times. I liked him very much. It was a great role. It was fun and it had a run-world.
