Cobra Kai Season 5 is set to air on October 25th, 2020. The release date for the new season has not been released yet, but it is most likely that it will be released in the near future. Cobra Kai Season 5 is set to air on October 25th, 2020.

No matter what happens in the next installment, there will be more Karate Kid IP flooding this world after Season Five. (No, we are not referring to the musical but there is one. Jon Hurwitz, the series creator, responded to a question on Twitter about Cobra Kai‘s fate. He said that he expected more Cobra Kai and that the Miyagiverse was far from over. Cryptic! Cryptic!

Are you ready for a dive into the Miyagiverse? No? No. This is Cobra Kai Season 5 as it stands now.

Cobra Kai before Season 5

We love Cobra Kai. First, the continuation (and really expansion) of films that were cultural icons of the 1980s. These characters have depth. The action sequences! The performances! The performances!

It works both on an episodic level (I don’t think I’ve ever seen but oneepisode from Cobra Kai) and a season level. Each season leaves viewers with a lot of plot points and cliffhangers that will carry over into the next season. This makes them hungry, excited, and thirsty for more.

Season 4 was no exception. Season 4 was no different. It rearranged all the plot threads from Season 3. However, there were plenty of plot developments that we could speculate about and be excited about when it ended. For viewers not familiar with The Karate Kidlore, or can’t recall back to Season 3, there’s an old face at the episode’s end who might need some background.

Let’s now talk about the end of Cobra KaiSeason 4 and where each major character stands moving forward.

Who was Daniel and who did he team up with at the conclusion of Cobra KaiSeason 4.

Chozen Toguchi was the character Daniel teamed up (at Mr. Miyagi’s tomb at the end of Season 4) with whom he appeared as a villain in The Karate Kid Part II. He also played a short role in Season 3’s Cobra Kai. Although he was Daniel’s enemy, and a villain in the film, his recent appearance shows that he is now on Mr. Miyagi’s side. Given the situation he is in, it makes sense that Daniel would reach out to him for some assistance.

Here are the Cobra Kaicharacters that remain.

Daniel

After losing at the All-Valley To Cobra Kai, Daniel must technically leave Miyagi-do Karate. He can’t allow that to happen with Terry Silver’s money, resources (and general evilness), now threatening Cobra Kai.

Daniel must also deal with the fact his son Anthony is a spoilt little brat. Although he did put him in his place with his yelling, he will need to do more.

Johnny

Johnny must also stop his Eagle Fang Karate after Cobra Kai won. But, he has never been one to follow rules so we’ll wait to see what happens. Johnny seems to have found a positive thing with Carmen, Miguel’s mother, and has made a breakthrough in reuniting with his son Robby.

Johnny made a mistake in a drunken moment and thought Miguel was Robby. He told Miguel who needs a father figure, and he found it in Johnny that he loved Robby. This was a roughmoment that sparked something in Miguel.

Johnny will follow Miguel to Mexico City and ensure he is safe while he searches for his father.

Miguel

Miguel managed to avoid another injury at the All-Valley tournament but didn’t return to the competition. He felt like Johnny was using him as a pawn for his forever-competition against LaRusso, Kreese. Miguel was also emotionally crushed by the moment Johnny told him that he felt like a father figure to him and that he loved him before he called him “Robby.”

Miguel confirmed his relationship with Sam. But we see that Johnny will not be the Dad he can rely on. His mom claims that his father is a bad man. We’ll see. Johnny is also headed to Mexico City to learn more.

Robby

Robby had a great season, despite not having much to do in Season 3. He develops a chemistry with Tory at Cobra Kai. But, at the end, he has one positive thing and one negative thing. The good: After all their turmoil and ups, he finally finds Johnny. The bad? The bad? He should be able to save Silver from his clutches.

Samantha

Let’s be real for a moment. Sam was terrible to Tory early on in the season, while Sam was horrible to her. Tory was trying to earn a living and Tory was being rude to Sam. She gave her all and was a good participant in the tournament. She will definitely be back to grind and try again in the future. She represented that there is a happy middle between Johnny and Daniel’s styles. This was a positive figure to have on the show.

Tory

Tory is a low-key character that has been developed more than any other on the show. Although she was initially viewed as an antagonist, she has since been developed to be someone who is just trying to find her place and take care her family. She also shows contrast in classes at California Karate. The LaRusso’s have a lot of money, so Tory must make her own money.

Tory has a new moral dilemma at season’s conclusion: She won the All-Valley title, but she overheard Terry Silver bribing an official. She is the only one who knows what will happen.

Amanda

Amanda has a newfound empathy for Tory, who she used to hate. Amanda doesn’t wish to pity Tory and Tory doesn’t want her to pity her–but they seem to be able to see eye-to-eye at this stage. There’s so much more to that relationship.

Kreese

Are Kreese in a process of evolving? This seems to be the direction that things are heading. Terry Silver, the Karate Kidfranchise’s final big bad, reappeared what he sow by bringing back Terry Silver; Kreese displayed “weakness” in letting Tory pick the strategy she preferred in the final. Silver then paid him back by framing Silver for the assault (and attempted killing?). Stingray. Kreese will be going to prison for a bit in recognition of his years of evil.

Could this be his motivation to join the good guys. Maybe. Maybe Silver isn’t going to let it go, and Kreese might end up with the lesser of the two evils.

Terry Silver

We have a new main Cobra Kaivillain, ladies and gentlemen! Terry was content to play his piano and enjoy artisanal cooking. But when Kreese returned and his hair was pulled back, the lunatic became full-on evil.

He bribed an official to allow children to win a tournament of karate, expanded the dojo to teach kids how to cheat and fight, beat up Stingray and framed Kreese (and sent him to prison! for attempted murder. Bad guy! Bad guy!

Hawk

Hawk made a remarkable turnaround. There were some ups, downs, and Hawk was still a good man. However, Robby, Kyler and Cobra Kai cut his mohawk, which was a huge blow.

He bounced back, and even beat Robby to win the All-Valley title. Hawk is on a high note for the first time and seems to have gained his girlfriend back.

Demetri

Demetri is improving at Karate and still wisecracking. He’s still in love with Yasmine. All is well.

Kenny

Poor Kenny. Although he was initially optimistic, Cobra Kai has already changed him into someone that Kenny would have hated in the first season. It’s difficult to get mad at him, because Anthony LaRusso was so cruel to him and his horrible friends. Robby is a true sweetheart and Robby can help him get on the right track.

Anthony

Anthony LaRusso is the opposite. Is it okay to feel sorry for him at the conclusion of the season? Or forgive him? I think he still has a lot to learn. Kenny was so annoyed by this kid that he didn’t even know why. His friends were cruel and he just accepted it. He was especially cruel in his humiliation of Kenny, pretending to be the girl that he loved. Season 5: Daniel and Amanda yell at Kenny a lot more.

Cobra Kai Season 5 Release Date

Cobra Kai season 5 trailer

You can view the first trailer for Cobra Kai Season 5 here.

It comes after the 51st All Valley Karate Championship, which saw MiyagiDo and Eagle Fang come to an abrupt halt in contentious circumstances following a controversial win by Tory and Cobra Kai at the finals.

This trailer shows Terry Silver’s plans for franchising the dojo throughout the valley. Daniel LaRusso is fighting back and has turned to Chozen, his former rival, to help him in the fight against Silver.

Cobra Kai Season 5 doesn’t only focus on karate shenanigans at Los Angeles. Johnny and Robby are seen going down south to find Miguel, who fled home to find him at the end of the fourth season.

Cobra Kai season 5 cast

The trailer shows that some characters are back. Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso will be back, which means Ralph Macchio are back and William Zabka is back. Courtney Henggeler returns as Amanda LaRusso and Vanessa Rubio is Carmen Diaz.

Season 5 will feature Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), and John Kreese, (Martin Kove), back (after a possible stint in prison – more details in a moment).

The last moments of season 4 confirmed that a surprise cast member would be returning to the show: Yuji Okumoto will reprise his role as Chozen from season 2.

The younger cast includes Xolo Marduena as Miguel Diaz and Mary Mouser portraying Samantha LaRusso. Tanner Buchanan portraying Robby Keene, Peyton List portraying Tory, and Mary Mouser portraying Samantha LaRusso.

Jacob Bertrand is Hawk; Gianni DeCenzo is Demetri Alexopoulos; Peyton List plays Tory Nichols; Joe Seo plays Kyler Park; Selah Austria plays Piper; Khalil Everage is Chris; Aedin Mincks portrays Mitch; Hannah Kepple portrays Moon, Owen Morgan as Bert and Nathaniel Oh, as Nate. All of these characters have either been confirmed or will return in some capacity.

Griffin Santopietro can be counted on as Anthony LaRusso again, while Dallas Young is back as Kenny Payne – and, according to Deadline(opens new tab), Young has been promoted to series regular.

Deadline reports that Alicia Hannah Kim has been cast as Kim Daeun, a South Korean sensei involved in Silver’s plans to grow Cobra Kai. Ominous.

After his unexpected role in season 4, it remains to be seen whether Paul Walter Hauser will reprise his role as Stingray.

Cobra Kai season 5 plot

Season 4 marked a paradigm shift in Cobra Kai’s approach to the game, and season 5 will address the aftermath. One thing is that the combined forces from Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang (or Miyagi Fang) were not enough to defeat Cobra Kai at All Valley. Cobra Kai won both the girls’ section of the tournament as well as the overall prize. Terry Silver, who won the big win, has promised to open dojos across the Valley. This will make it harder for the Cobra Kais next season.

It will be a fight. Despite his agreement to stop teaching karate if Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang lose the tournament, Daniel LaRusso still intends to bring down Cobra Kai. He’s asked Chozen to help him this time. We can assume that Chozen will have more tricks in store for the former antagonist, given that he shared a secret, but very effective, Miyagi-Do technique with Daniel the last time they met. As shown in the trailer, it’s likely that the partnership will pose a challenge to Silver and the Cobra Kais.

Jon Hurwitz, co-creator of the series, said that Chozen was a favorite character in the franchise. “When Yuji [Okumoto] came back in season 3, the scenes he shared with Ralph [Macchio] were some our favorite moments in that season from both a karate standpoint and also from a comedy perspective. We love his dynamic and the unique qualities he brings. He has demons and he is working on his life. He’s a fully-realized character who needs work. And the best time to bring him to the United States to fight in the Valley is when Terry Silver is at the top. We all know that Terry Silver is a formidable opponent. Cobra Kai will be having Terry Silver on the side. Chozen, who has a history in fighting to death and fearlessness and seems to be more skilled than Daniel, would be great to join them. Even, at this point, it seemed like it was great to have Chozen as an opposing force to Silver.

John Kreese is out of the picture for now. Silver organized his old friend’s arrest by framing Kreese to receive the brutal beating Silver gave Stingray. It’s unclear how Kreese’s season will end with Kreese in prison. However, he has been very difficult to beat in the past so don’t dismiss him. It remains to be seen how he deals with being betrayed and Silver threatening his prize pupil Johnny Lawrence.

Johnny is now on the trail to Miguel. Both characters will be taken to Mexico by this route, where Miguel is still searching for his father. One potential problem in the plan to make amends to Miguel is that Johnny seems be building bridges alongside his son Robby Keene. Robby is traveling with Johnny south of the border. However, it isn’t all smooth sailing between Johnny and Miguel. It could be a step closer to putting an end to all the bad blood.

Their future prospects for the students of Miyagi, Eagle Fang and Cobra Kai are less certain. Daniel does not plan to close his dojo. It seems that the Miyagi-Do students will continue their karate training. Cobra Kai is also growing, although it appears that they may be losing some students this season. Robby is looking to leave, and Tory Nichols, All Valley champ, overheard a conversation that showed the tournament was rigged against Cobra Kai. She thinks Robby might also be considering leaving the dojo, especially since she and Amanda LaRusso started to bond throughout the season.

Eagle Fang is likely to continue training at Miyagi-Do. Johnny will be in Mexico at least part of this season. It is still up in the air whether any of the children will honor the Cobra Kai deal and stop learning karate completely.

Season 5 will be action-packed, that’s one thing we know for certain. “We just shot season 5. “We’ve just shot season 5.

“And so it’s become that. We do see that in the subsequent seasons, but we are still hoping for more. “We didn’t write it as an ending,” he says. We have another one in the works. We still have plenty of fireworks and cannons. We know we have many epic, big things in our arsenal. It can become a question of “Okay, how do I top that every season?” Fans will enjoy it as long as it is based on character. We don’t want it to become more spectacle than substance. That’s our overriding goal.

You might find some cameos from Karate Kid’s wider universe if you look closely. Hurwitz said that there is a lot to the franchise.

Is Cobra Kai Season 5 the last season?

Although there isn’t yet a confirmed season 6, series creators Hayden Schlossberg, Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz made it clear that more will be coming.

Collider was told by Heald that it has changed over time, but not always. “We have an endgame strategy. We are still working on season 5. It’s been fun to introduce new characters and storylines, and sometimes let them lead the way.

Hurwitz said, “We haven’t known from the beginning how many seasons it would be.” We always thought it was at least six, although we still have to figure out the landing length for all the reasons Josh mentioned.

Deadline was informed by Schlossberg that the series could go beyond a sixth installment. He said, “We have an ending in mind.” We don’t know how many seasons it will take to get there. It’s a great experience. He said, “If it becomes tiring to us we’ll stop; we have a few more season already planned.”

It remains to be seen if Cobra Kai will continue beyond season 5. However, season 4 is shaping up to be one the most watched series on Netflix.
