CinemaCon attendees also saw a short clip of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever footage at CinemaCon in April. Despite the fact that Phase4 is still months away, Marvel Studios is already ramping up its promotion. Black Panther 2 will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), film to arrive in theaters after Thor, Love and Thunder. We’ll hopefully get the first teaser trailer for Black Panther soon.

Release date for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: November 11

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is only available in theaters from November 11, 2022.

The film’s launch date has been rumored to be in doubt for a while. Some speculated that development issues may have caused it to be moved into 2023. Dominique Thorne (who’ll be Riri Williams/Ironheart) took to her Instagram account (thanks for the Twitter fan account) to announce that she had completed shooting her scenes on March 13.

Production on Black Panther 2 was officially completed almost two weeks later. Multiple crew members confirmed this on social media.

It’s unlikely that Black Panther : Wakanda Forever will delay its debut in theaters with less than five months left. Marvel already rearranged its 2023 movie schedule once, and it will not do so again if Black Panther 2, which is still in production, needs more time. We hope that this doesn’t happen.

The unimaginable loss of Chadwick Boseman has caused a huge hole in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Marvel will not be re-creating the star digitally, like Star Wars : Rogue One by Peter Cushing.

“There is only one Chadwick and he’s no longer with us,” Victoria Alonso, Marvel Studios’ executive vice president, told the Argentinian website Clearin (opens in a new tab). “Our king has unfortunately died in real life, and not in fiction. We are taking a moment to look at how we return history and what we can do to honor this terrible chapter in our lives.

Kevin Feige said, “I want to recognize the devastating loss of an dear friend and a part of our Marvel Studios familia,” during Disney’s Investor Day conference December 2020. “Chadwick Boseman, an incredibly talented actor and inspiring individual, had a profound impact on our lives personally and professionally. His portrayal as T’Challa, Black Panther, is iconic and transcends all other Marvel’s versions of the character. We will not remake the character.

Black Panther: Wakanda forever stars Martin Freeman (via Colider(opens new tab)) and Letitia Wright(via Variety (opens new tab_)) have spoken out about the difficulties of filming the film without Boseman. However, both men stated that they were committed to T’Challa’s legacy and that all of the cast and crew had been “committed”. The film will, we are certain, be a moving and touching tribute to the actor.

The Black Panther 2 cast will include many familiar MCU characters, even without their hero.

Danai Gura, Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gyurira will all be reprising their roles in Black Panther 2018. A leaked photo of Gurira as Okoye, Wright’s Shuri was posted online recently (thanks to the Black Panther 2 News twitter fan account(opens new tab)), which shows the characters’ updated looks for this sequel.

Winston Duke is back as M’Baku, and Freeman as Everett K Ross. As the Elders in Wakanda’s Tribes, Isaach de Bankole and Danny Sapani return.

It is unclear if Daniel Kaluuya, T’Challa’s best buddy and Okoye’s lover, will be returning to W’Kabi. Kaluuya stated that he didn’t know if he was returning to Wakanda as W’Kabi, T’Challa’s best friend and Okoye’s love interest in February 2020 in a conversation with Jemele Hill (opens in a new tab). A report from The Direct (opens in a new tab) mentions Kaluuya’s expected return.

Michael B Jordan, the antagonist Erik Killmonger from 2018’s Black Panther, is likely to be absent from the second movie. Apart from Killmonger’s death – which isn’t a reason to believe that it’s ever been a barrier for a character returning in the MCU – Feige stated (per CinemaBlend(opens new tab)), that any reports about Jordan’s return “pure speculation” and that “nothing has yet been confirmed”.

Jess Cagle asked Jordan on Sirius XM how likely a Killmonger return was. He said that he would choose a solid two. I was not going to go zero. Never say never, I can’t foresee the future!

But, Marvel leaker Charles Murphy (opens in a new tab) teased that Killmonger could be back in some form. , a fellow insider, suggests that Jordan’s Killmonger might make a brief appearance. However, we won’t reveal the scene because it would spoil a crucial part of the plot. Michael B Jordan won’t likely be back in Black Panther 2, but you never know. (Image credit: Marvel)

There has been no confirmation yet on the identity of Black Panther 2’s antagonist. A Hollywood Reporter (opens in new tab), story indicated that Tenoch Huerta, the Narcos: Mexico star, was being considered for the role of antagonist. The Illuminerdi (opens in a new tab) revealed more details about the mystery in June 2021. They claimed that Huerta was playing Prince Namor, the Atlantean antihero and is essentially Marvel’s answer for DC’s Aquaman.

The Mutants Twitter account (opens in new tab) claims that Huerta was filmed scenes in Puerto Rico just before production finished. This, along with the fact that Marvel’s Atlantis version will feature in the movie only fuels the fire that Namor will be performing antagonistic duties in Black Panther : Wakanda Forever.

Multiple MCU insiders claim that Namor will be the film’s main antagonist. Charles Murphy (opens in a new tab) asserts that Namor will take on the chief antagonistic duties. Vice (opens in a new tab) reports Huerta has learned Mayan language in order to portray the character.

Why Mayan? According to reports, Namor’s origins were slightly modified for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Brazilian fan site Chippu (opens in new tab ), which is often on the money with Marvel leaks and reports that “[Namor] won’t originate in Atlantis as in comics but in the Central American Region and will come out of a historic and submerged Mexican city.”

According to Aztec manuscripts, Tlalocan is the name of this city. It’s believed to be Tlalocan. MCU insider MytimetoShineHello posted some concept art (opens in a new tab) showing Namor how he might look (opens in a new tab) to go along with Namor’s Aztec heritage.

According to Variety (opens in new tab), Michaela Coel, “I Will Destroy You” has signed on for an undisclosed role. The multi-award winning actor/writer/director/producer’s star, then, is only set to shine brighter when Black Panther 2 is released in theaters.

The MCU movie will introduce the star of one of MCU’s upcoming TV series. Feige announced that Ironheart (aka Riri) will be making her live-action debut with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in August 2021. Dominique Thorne has been cast as the role. According to rumors, The Cosmic Circus (opens in new tab), we will see Riri Williams in her Iron Man-style costume in the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Greatphase (opens in a new tab) also denied that Ironheart was the daughter of Killmonger. This was a May-based rumor.

Charles Murphy (opens in new window) suggests Julia Louis-Dreyfus will be visited by Valentina Allegra De Fontaine at some point. She will be trying to recruit which of the superpowered Wakanda and Tlalocan beings. We’ll see.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Story: What’s the deal?

Marvel is known to work on a strictly need-to-know basis when it comes to storylines. So, very little information is available about the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever plot.

Coogler originally wrote a script featuring Boseman, despite him keeping his four-year battle against cancer a secret. Coogler stated that he spent the last year planning, imagining, and writing words for Boseman to say. It breaks my heart to know that I will not be able to see him again on the monitor or to walk up to him to ask for another shot.

What does this all mean? Marvel stated, at Disney’s 2020 Investor Day presentation that the sequel will “continue to explore the incomparable Wakanda world and all of its rich and varied characters” – a strategy Feige reiterated in an interview with Deadline (opens in new tab), January 2021.

He said, “So many of the comics are about Wakanda and that first movie is about it.” “Wakanda can be explored further with characters and subcultures. This was the main focus of the story. Ryan Coogler is hard at work right now on the script, which gives us great comfort. It was always about Wakanda’s mythology and inspiration. It’s also important to honor and respect the continuing learnings and teachings of Chad.

Feige knew of the potential for Black Panther’s supporting cast as far back March 2018. He said Entertainment Weekly (opens in new tab)., “It’s about finding the right balance between giving people too much and leaving them wanting more.” Shuri is a remarkable actress and we’ll be seeing more of her in our universe. Okoye. I would watch three action movies of Okoye alone. While I don’t claim we are doing this, I do think we’re interested in them.”

Good Morning America (opens in a new tab) Lupita Nyongo stated that Black Panther: Wakanda Folio will be “different” from other Black Panther films and that all of us are committed to reimagining his legacy in the new Black Panther. According to People, Nyong’o doubled down on her tribute to Boseman during the 2022 Saks’ spring 2022 campaign. This one will definitely be a hit with people.

Angela Bassett gave a brief tease about her film during an Ellen interview (opens in new tab). She said, “It’s going be amazing.” It will surpass the first one. That’s all I can say. Boseman was an example, a leader and an incredible talent. We all know this. We just hope that his standards will be raised. He was a man of great heart and intellect.

Black Panther: Wakanda forever will not feature T’Challa – it will presumably address his absence in some manner – but there’s a strong chance it’ll introduce him to the world in that iconic vibranium catsuit.

Rumours circulated that Shuri would take over the role after her brother’s passing. In November 2021, it was speculated that M’Baku would take on the Black Panther alias. There are rumors that the suit will be worn by multiple characters, but it is worth noting that there have been other rumors.

Chadwick Boseman is the brother of Chadwick Boseman, and he would like to see Black Panther’s character recast in future films. Derrick Boseman believes his brother would like the role to be given to another if he wasn’t able to portray T’Challa. He also said that Chadwick Boseman would agree that T’Challa should continue to live in the MCU.

Apart from Boseman’s tribute, Black Panther 2 may tie into Thor: Love and Thunder as well as Moon Knight. Bast, the Wakandan goddess of Wakandan, will be featured in Thor 4. Moon Knight’s explorations of Egyptian gods (in comics, Bast is one of their number) also links it to Wakanda Forever. It seems that Moon Knight does not exist in its own MCU universe.

The film may also address real-world events such as Spain’s colonization in Central America. MCU leaker CineStealth(opens new tab) says that a flashback sequence will be included in the film, which depicts Namor’s Aztec ancestors fighting off the Spanish conquistadors. Marvel doesn’t hesitate to explore these kinds of areas and, so long as it serves a purpose in the film’s story. Namor will be the main antagonist.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer – When will it be released?

When will the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer go online? Image credit: Marvel Studios/Disney

We don’t know yet. Marvel recently took a page from Netflix and released trailers for new movies. Disney Plus shows was also available closer to the launch dates. The first trailer for Thor 4 arrived on April 18, three months after it was due to hit theaters. Ms Marvel’s trailer was released on March 15, three months after it had been posted on Disney Plus.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see Black Panther: Wakanda forever’s trailer if this is a regular Marvel trend. We’d be surprised if there isn’t a teaser given at the Comic-Con panel by Marvel Studios. It could happen anytime between July 21-24. If one is available, it should be online shortly after its unveiling.

D23 Expo is the only event where Black Panthers 2’s trailer can be seen in person. D23 Expo is the only other event where Black Panthers 2’s trailer could be shown. It will take place in September though, so it’s a little late to showcase the first teaser.

Our guess? Black Panther: Wakanda forever will be shown at Comic-Con. A trailer will also be displayed during D23 Expo. If both are correct, we don’t have any insider information.

CinemaCon attendees saw some footage of the movie in April. According to Fandango’s Erik Davis (opens in new tab), the sizzle reel featured a shot of Nakia and Okoye taking center stage for a pending battle. We believe that the fight will be between Wakanda (or – well, if we read those sections, then you’ll know).

Black Panther: Wakanda forever: Where does it fit in the MCU timeline

This assumes that Marvel’s release schedule does not change. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would be the 30th film in the most successful cinematic franchise.

Where does Black Panther 2 fit into the MCU timeline? It’s a bit of a mystery. However, we believe it will take place sometime after The Falcon or the Winter Soldier finale. There was also a strong Wakandan presence on Disney Plus, as Sam Wilson’s new Captain America costume was made using advanced technology from the African nation. Rumours even suggest that Anthony Mackie could be seen in Black Panther: Wakanda forever as the new Cap.

In a The Daily Show With Trevor Noah(opens new tab) interview, Mackie said that he is training to play Wilson again. This usually takes four months. The star also stated Entertainment Tonight (opens in new tab): “I have a Wakanda Visa, so I can travel to Wakanda whenever I want.” I have a passport, a Wakanda visa, and I’m fully vaccinated so I can travel to Wakanda.

Even though we don’t know exactly where Black Panther: Wakanda forever will be located on Marvel’s sacred timeline, things have become more complicated since Avengers: Endgame. There are still some things know.

One, Black Panther 2 will be the first step towards Ironheart’s MCU series. According to Anthony Ramos, an actor in Ironheart’s In The Heights, Ryan Coogler, director is on board. This is highly probable, considering Ironheart’s part in the next Black Panther movie.

Coogler is also working on a Wakanda TV series for Disney’s streaming service. Charles Murphy(opens new tab) claims that Black Panther 2 will lead to a Namor-led franchise. However, there is no information on whether this will be a TV series or a movie.

The future of Marvel’s Black Panther franchise looks bright at the moment. It is still unknown if the character will be recast or if we will see a third movie. We know that Black Panther is coming out with Wakanda Forever – regardless of what happens – and that it will be a movie that honors Chadwick Boseman.
