So who will come out victorious in this ultimate showdown? ..

Meliodas and Escanor fought it out in The Seven Deadly Sins. But who was the winner? The 7 Deadly Sins was created by Nakaba Suzuki. It is a manga and Shounen anime series. It takes place in medieval Britain and is loosely inspired from Arthurian legend.

The story follows a group of knights, each representing one cardinal sin. They were arrested for plotting against the Liones Kingdom. Ten years later, the Seven Deadly Sins return to aid Elizabeth, a Liones princess who is trying to reclaim her kingdom from the control of the tyrannical Holy Knights.

Meliodas, the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins, is the character who bears the sins of wrath. Meliodas, despite appearing like an adolescent boy is actually a 3000-year old demon. He is the son of the evil Demon King and former leader of his elite fighter squad The Ten Commandments. Meliodas is calm and steady, but his sin of wrath combined with his demon-lineage means that he can sometimes erupt in rage-filled outbursts from time to time.

Meliodas’ power is greatest when he unleashes all of his abilities. This was evident during the Corand arc The 7 Deadly Sins, when Melascula got into a fight with Meliodas and caused Meliodas to turn back to his demon self. Meliodas, a man consumed by darkness, stood up against his comrades and was branded an enemy. This forced Escanor into action to fight his now berserk leader. It was an epic battle that ensued, but who did win?

Meliodas won the first round against Escanor. While he is undoubtedly powerful in his demon form but he was equally matched with Escanor, who is widely regarded as one of the most formidable characters. Escanor is blessed with a magical ability, “Sunshine” that allows him to increase his power as the sun grows stronger. It peaks at noon. Escanor attains “The One”, a form that Merlin, a member of Seven Deadly Sins describes as an “invincible embodiment of power” when his power peaks.

Escanor took advantage of the fact that Meliodas’ battle was near noon to his advantage, and became “The One”. He delivered a devastating blow with his bare hands that rendered Meliodas unconscious and left him with a severe gash on his chest. Although he was able to stop Meliodas’ rampage, he won the fight and emerged victorious. However, both Escanors and Meliodas were exhausted from the most intense battles in anime series. Escanor, Meliodas and the Seven Deadly Sins were able to recover quickly and fought again.
