The next day, Yui wakes up to find that everything has changed - her apartment is gone, her phone is missing, and so is Kakeru. She assumes he’s just moved out of town or something but can’t find any information about him online or anywhere else. Frustrated but determined not to give up on him yet, she decides to go see him at his new job anyway… only to find out that he doesn’t even work there anymore! It’s at this point that things start getting really confusing for Yui - did something happen between her and Kakeru while he was away last night? Did he break up with her because of what happened? Or was it something else entirely? The episode ends without resolving any of these questions - leaving viewers even more confused than before! ..

Disclaimer I don’t remember if this was the way it was handled in manga. I believe the camping trip established their relationship status. They simply spoke about it when asked rather than Ooshiro making it into an anime-esque duel. I’d criticize the manga if the anime simply took the manga as it is.

The episode’s events are in autopilot, except for the 10-minute scenario. Raidou creates many exaggerated scenarios about Aharen’s behavior. It almost feels like an attempt to call back to the more traditional formula that anime used. Aharen attempts to show appreciation for those around her. Even the teachers, who were rarely shown to her at all during the series. It was kind of strange. Certain things are not subject to change in this medium.

A series-ending festival of cheerfulness, which doesn’t harness much energy unless one truly loved the series. Aharen, Raidou and Ooshiro, if not mentioned, are horribly underdeveloped.
