The Pretty Boy Detective Club Season 2 release date has been revealed. The show will return on October 25th, 2019. The new season will follow the detectives as they investigate a series of murders that have occurred in the city.
Pretty Boy Detective Club (also known as Bishounen Tadan in Japanese) is an anime mystery TV series. It is an adaptation from Nisio Isin’s manga series with the same title by Kinako. The series’ inaugural season was animated by Shaft animation studio. It aired for twelve episodes. The series’ premiere episode was released on April 11, 2021. The season finale was shown on June 27, 2021.
What’s the Show About?
Bishounen Tenteidan’s story revolves around Mayumi Doujima. She made a promise to her parents that she would follow her dream of becoming an astronaut and give up on it if she didn’t find one by her fourteenth birthday. Manabu Soutouin learned about Mayumi’s problems and offered to help her with the Pretty Boy Detective Club at Yubiwa.
Mayumi is able to see things ordinary people cannot. Mayumi has a gift for seeing the finer details. She is able to spot hidden traps even from far away. She soon joined the Pretty Boy Detective Club in their search for the star lost. They ended up in a position they didn’t even imagine when they tried to find a star.
FUNimation’s Pretty Boy Detective Club English dub released date
The first season of the anime was originally streamed with English subtitles only on FUNimation or AnimeLab (which will soon change its name to FUNimation for marketing purposes).

Pretty Boy Detective Club Season 2 Renewal Status
This show’s first season was intriguing enough to keep viewers interested. It received positive reviews from all over the world. It currently has a score of 7.23 on MyAnimeList at the time of writing. This show’s popularity is very low. It boasts more than 72K members of its MAL group. These figures are well above average and more than enough for the makers to give the green light. There is also plenty of material left for Pretty Boy Detective Club Season 2. There are good chances that all of the detectives will be back on the screen with new cases.
Detective Club Season 2 Release date
Production of the majority of twelve-part anime series takes around one and a quarter years. This can also be expected for the production of this series. Studio Shaft is expected to begin production of the show in the coming months. Pretty Boy Detective Club Season 2 could be released in the first half 2023. This section will be updated as needed.

As of the last update, SHAFT and Aniplex have not confirmed that Pretty Boy Detective Club Season 2 will be released. A sequel has not been announced.

Pretty Boy Detective Club reviews are average. Although the premise of cute boys doing bishounen is a bit off-putting to many anime fans, it could become a hit once word gets out.
Even though Western viewers are mostly giving anime a pass in the West, it is possible that a sequel could be approved based on Japan’s popularity. While streaming revenue is the main financial factor that determines success, the Pretty Boy Detective Club Blu ray box set will provide an indication of the popularity of Volume 1 when it releases in Japan on July 28, 2021.
It’s not yet clear if this anime will be worthy of a sequel.
Comparative comparison of the anime and Pretty Boy Detective Club manga/novels
The anime’s story is based upon the Bishounen Tadan novel series by Monogatari creator Nisio ISIN (or NISIOISIN), and illustrator Kinako. This author is best known for his novels Juuni Taisen and Katanagatari. These books have been adapted into anime TV shows.
A Monogatari book features Mayumi Dojima, the main character, and Lai Fudatsuki, the assistant. The Pretty Boy Detective Club was originally meant to be part of the Bokyaku Tantei series. However, the author decided to make an independent series.
Kodansha launched the series in October 2015. It was Pretty Boy Detective Club Volume 12 by May 14, 2021. Up until 2019, new books were published regularly, but the anime adaptation inspired the author into creating a second book.
In 2016, the original creator joined forces with Suzuka Oda, a manga artist, to create the Pretty Boy Detective Club manga version. The “first” Bishounen Taneidan manga was not published in 2019, and only five volumes were released.
Vertical, a North American publisher, is responsible for translating the English versions of the books and manga. As of April 2021 the English books have reached Volume 3, but Volume 4 has not been announced.
Beginning July 6, 2021, the English translation of Pretty Boy Detective will be available in two-in-one omnibus editions. Volume 2 will be released on October 12, 2021. The average anime adaptation of a novel series is 3 to 5 books per season. Goblin Slayer (Goblinslayer Season 2 is confirmed), Konosuba and Combatants will be Dispatched! They are considered outliers because they only covered two light novels in one cour. It is rare to adapt a single book in one cour, such as the 86: Eight Six anime.
Pretty Boy Detective Club anime adhered to industry standards by adapting five books and 12 episodes. Each episode’s title clearly identified the source book.
Each Blu-Ray box set includes the episodes from a single book adaptation.
Episodes 1 to 3 adapted The Dark Star That Only Shines For You, the first book. Episodes 4 and 5 featured The Swindler, Vanishing Man and the Pretty Boys. Episodes 6 and 7 featured The Pretty Boy in the Attic. Episodes 8 & 9 of The Pretty Boy Traveling With the Brocade Portrait were released.
Episodes 10-12 were adapted from The Pretty Boy on D. Hill (which is actually the sixth book of the series). The Moving Tale of Panorama Island, novel 5, was not adapted by the anime.
There is plenty of material to make Pretty Boy Detective Club Season 2.
For English-only anime fans, the bad news is that they will have to wait until 2022 before reading English novels. The manga series is much more advanced than the anime and English novels will not catch up to the anime before 2022.

It’s snowtime! The Pretty Boys Detective Club will be traveling to a five-day, six-night winter training camp.
Norama Island is the destination. This uninhabited island is where Kowako Ekui lives. He is an artist and former teacher who was expelled by the Ring Academy. There are five pavilions on the island named after Kowako Ekui’s birds, with each pavilion having an “invisible” painting.
It is up to you to solve the mystery of the five arts that are hidden in the five mansions at the winter training camp. The members of the club must work in separate groups to view all the paintings.
