In the 12th episode of the Paripi Koumei series, “What has happened?”, we are treated to a review and final explanation of what has transpired. We learn that the events of this episode took place after the events of Episode 11. In that episode, a group of people led by Koumei were trying to find a way to stop the war between Japan and China. They were successful in doing so, but they were also successful in causing much destruction and death. As a result, many people have died and many more have been injured. Koumei himself has also lost many friends and family members in this process. He is still trying to make sense of what happened and why it happened. We also learn that there are still some people who are not yet sure what really happened during the war between Japan and China. Some believe that Koumei was actually responsible for all of the deaths and injuries that occurred during that time period; others believe he was only part of a larger plan which went wrong. Whatever the case may be, we can be sure that Koumei is still trying to figure out what really happened during those fateful days in China.
