Malty S Melromarc is a character from The Rising of the Shield Hero. He is a mercenary who has been hired by the king to help protect his people. Melromarc is a strong and determined man, and he is always willing to fight for what he believes in. He is also very resourceful, able to think on his feet and come up with strategies when it matters most. Melromarc is a great friend to those he meets, and he always puts others first. He is also an excellent leader, able to motivate his troops and keep them on track. Overall, I think Melromarc is an excellent character who deserves to be praised for his bravery and determination. He has shown himself time and again to be a true hero, and I look forward to seeing more of him in the future!

After her lies were exposed, she was disowned from the royal family where she soon betrayed the other 3 heroes and she became a wanted criminal.

APPEARANCE Malty S Melromarc From The Rising Of The Shield HEro

Malty S Melromarc was first described by Naofumi Iwatani as a lovely girl with wavy semi-long crimson hair that is tied up in a ponytail with chest-length hair strands hanging on either side, emerald-green eyes, a pretty cute and youthful facial features, yet slightly shorter than Naofumi.

Even after her betrayal, Naofumi admits that she is a waste of beauty and describes her as needlessly attractive.

PERSONALITY Malty S Melromarc

Malty S Melromarc normally presents herself to newcomers with her mask of a friendly, encouraging and flirty person, but she is actually a malevolent psychopath with a myriad of negative traits – she is a pathological liar who stands prejudiced, narcissistic, egocentric, haughty, dishonest, hypocritical, corrupt, arrogant, depraved, treacherous, malevolent, sadistic, abusive, deceitful, selfish and tyrannical. She is shown to be highly adept at cheating and manipulating people, and is not above insulting or making them as miserable as possible. She is (to an extent) cunningly deceptive enough to “cry” crocodile tears in order to fool people into taking her side. Something their Queen calls her out on in the manga. Even after she got implanted a spell that makes her feel an immeasurable pain and forces her to say the truth or when she’s discovered, Malty still possesses her tendency to lie, just like when she denies her sister that she tried to poison the food Naofumi was going to eat even though Melty saw and caught her red-handed.

Malty S Melromarc is also a first-class actress, often pretending to be a poor and harmless girl and victimizes herself in order to make people and believe her

Malty S Melromarc will do whatever it takes to get her way and is not above any kind of foul play, willfully interfering in otherwise fair matches. She will readily commit atrocities to gain an underhanded advantage while at the same time considering everything that may disfavor her side “unfair,” revealing her to be a sore loser on top of being a scoundrel as well. She would go as far as attempting to kill her own sister so that she could be the future queen, manipulating her father making him believe Naofumi kidnapped Melty and “hypnotized” her to be on his side, and so more.

Malty S Melromarc is extravagant and goes as far as to use the country’s treasury for her luxurious spending in daily life, cynically calling it “for the sake of the world.” Her greed extends even towards villages ruined by the Catastrophe Waves, heavily taxing them beyond their means simply for the sake of entry and exit. Her mother mentioned that she already used her own body to gain some benefits – it is implied she went sexual on Motoyasu Kitamura in order to better control him. In spite of visibly supporting (or pretending to support) Motoyasu, she is ultimately out for herself alone and stands ready to betray anyone, even her own blood relatives, for her vain, foolhardy personal desires.

BACKGROUND Malty S Melromarc

According to Mirellia Q Melromarc and Melty Q Melromarc, Malty hides in the shadows and enjoys bringing anguish to others, it is believed that the reason for such malicious behavior is because her father, Aultcray Melromarc XXXII, spoiled her rotten while growing up, causing the elder sibling to abuse her authority without any consequences. Malty’s lack of discipline and repulsive personality led to Melty being chosen as heir apparent to the throne over her.

To fix her bad personality, the Queen sent her to study abroad in a school at Faubrey. However, all that accomplished was Malty’s “graduation” from virginity.

Rising of the Shield Hero: Why Did Princess Malty Betray Naofumi?

Princess Malty’s betrayal is a controversial and hated event. However, it rouses the question of why she pulled a fast one on the titular Shield Hero.

Being hated by most of the kingdom of Melromarc’s population, Naofumi was forced to roam in exile without any support. His general distrust and apathy toward others’ opinions largely helped his survival. Fortunately, he met the demi-human Raphtalia and the giant bird Filo, who both aided in suppressing his darkest thoughts. But before Naofumi met his trusty aides, he had Princess Malty as his sole companion.

When nobody chose to be his companion, Malty volunteered to join his ranks. The traitorous princess hid her true identity and pretended to be on Naofumi’s side. She acted like she was guiding the naive Shield Hero, only to swindle his money and equipment later on. Princess Malty invited Naofumi to drink with her — a likely ploy to frame the hero — but when Naofumi rejected, she executed her plan in a different way. She went to Motoyasu, the Spear Hero, and tearfully accused Naofumi of sexual assaulting her.

The morning after, Naofumi discovered his money and armor to be missing. While running around looking for Malty, he met a bunch of knights and sought their help, but was arrested instead. Princess Malty revealed her betrayal in a spiel of how the Shield Hero supposedly assaulted her, and the evidence that nailed Naofumi’s coffin was a planted lingerie. After that he was banished and his name tarnished, transforming him into the currently dark and cynical antihero Rising of the Shield Hero viewers are most familiar with.

Malty’s controversial plot raises the question of her motives. The first that comes to mind is the temptation of money as she easily coveted Naofumi’s slightly-higher initial funds, though this reasoning is dulled by the fact that Malty is a crowned princess. Another speculation is the princess being naturally hateful. While that is true to a certain extent, there are other major factors in play.

The Rising of the Shield Hero later reveals that despite being the first princess, Malty S Melromarc is only second-in-line for the throne due to being a problem child, which further amplifies her already-hateful personality. Her jealousy even reaches the point of wanting to kill her own sister. Malty is also a firm believer of the Church of the Three Heroes, who branded Naofumi as a demon, and has close ties with the church’s leader who feeds her ego with false information about the Shield Hero. Malty’s nasty behavior mixed with the church’s influence and her raging jealousy prompts her to constantly obstruct Naofumi’s adventure and attempts to get stronger in the vilest of ways without a hint of remorse.

Princess Malty pulled off one of the nastiest betrayals in the world of anime. Even though her spiteful behavior plays a major part in her growing desire to destroy the Shield Hero, her social status and religious beliefs are also to blame. Having the influence to pull strings and moral validation of her evil deeds transformed her into the irredeemable villain of Rising of the Shield Hero.
