Riko, Nanachi and Reg arrive in the village called the Hollows to meet a strange-looking creature that appears intelligent. They discover that he is Majikaja, a hollow. He is eager to help them find their friend. Reg starts to worry about his curse as they follow their friend. Nanachi manages, however, to calm him down. Later, they find Prushka being operated upon by another Hollow.

Majikaja, who is about to intervene, explains to them that she must achieve her true form. Then the friends will feel better. Majikaja takes them to a marketplace, where he explains to them that they can buy anything provided they are willing and able to pay the price. Riko is delighted to find a letter from her mother’s house and asks Majikaja if he can buy it. Not realizing that the exchange of goods happens in the Village of Hollows, Majikaja agrees to buy it.

Riko’s decision to change her mind when she realizes she will need to trade a part of her body for the letter is based on this realization. Majikaja continues showing them the rest of the village while he explains the different values of various things. He believes Nanachi is a wonderful asset because she is very active and protected by strong desires. The hollows that surround the trio are still getting closer to them, despite all this happening. Riko doesn’t find this alarming so she gives Meinya over to one of the trio.

But the hollows end up pushing Meinya’s stomach to the point that he nearly kills her. Nanachi quickly steps in and makes sure that Nanachi is okay. The three friends decide to go to an inn and eat as much food as possible, ignoring any signs of food contamination. Riko is eventually taken ill, while Nanachi and Reg explore the village.

Made in Abyss Season 2, Episode 3: What Are Hollows Faputa is the One Who Made Them.

Hollows are a special species that have survived the curse of the City of the Unreturned. Their bodies have been deformed and they must pay the price. The Hollows’ bodies are usually shaped to their true desires. In a sense, Hollows are only shadows of their true self. They can take on different forms depending on the circumstances (which include their desires, as previously mentioned).

Riko becomes ill and must rest at the inn. Nanachi and Reg then decide to venture outside. Nanachi hopes to find something for Riko or Meinya. They are astonished to see the outside noise as they walk towards their inn. Majikaja is also walking in the same direction as the others. The two friends then ask Majikaja why he is so excited. Majikaja explained that everyone wants to see Faputa, who he considers the true embodiment and essence of value.

He claims that Faputa can travel from one place to the next without being seen. Nanachi immediately wondered if it was Faputa who took Prushka and left the note. It is impossible for someone with her abilities to do such a thing. Majikaja seems to be overwhelmed by her mysterious persona, but Reg shocks Nanachi by calling her Princess of the Hollows.

Are the Ganja Suicide Corps able to find the Golden City?

The Ganja Suicide Corps, after a long adventure through rough seas and the assistance of locals on the island, not only found the sixth layer of Abyss but also reached the Golden City. They arrive at the Hollows and attempt to communicate with them.

Just as it seems that they have finally reached a common understanding with the Hollows, a large dragon appears out of nowhere and devours one of them. The City of Unreturned is home to the Ganjas, who are just arriving. They realize they have a daunting task ahead of them. They must confront the unknown enemies in the Sixth Layer, with no prior knowledge.
