APPEARANCE

Hirano has a medium-to-stiff build with blonde hair and blue eyes. Hirano has pierced ears, and he often wears blue earrings. He is a formidable exterior.

PERSONALITY

KAGIURA AKIRA

Hirano’s roommate in his second year living at the dorms. This relationship is the focus of the series Hirano & Kagiura. Hirano, Kagiura’s junior, takes care of Kagiura by getting him up each morning for basketball practice, helping with his studies and even eating his green peppers. Hirano is most comfortable around Kagiura and enjoys light joking with him, sometimes even roughhousing.

MIYANO YOSHIKAZU

Hirano is Hirano’s junior on the Disciplinary Committee. Although they start off awkwardly, after the incident where Kuresawa and Miyano admitted that Hirano thought of him in a BL context they quickly became a junior-senior couple. Hirano is protective of Miyano, and he comes to Miyano’s aid when he needs it. However, this relationship becomes more relaxed as Sasaki and Miyano become more friendly.

SASAKI SHUUMEI

Hirano’s classmate. Although they often hang out at school together, they don’t claim to be close and rarely see one another outside of school. Hirano helps Sasaki out in many ways, including helping him copy his notes and assisting him in his studies prior to tests. Although Hirano initially is suspicious of Sasaki’s approach to Miyano by Sasaki, he soon comes to like them and becomes friends.

HANZAWA MASATO

Hirano is Hirano’s classmate and friend in the dorms. He also serves as a member of the Disciplinary Committee. They talk a lot and Hirano frequently goes to Hanzawa to get advice about how to handle situations such as talking to his new roommate. Hanzawa is worried about Hirano, having seen him become a pushover after he got his own underclassmen.

OGASAWARA JIROU

Hirano’s classmate. Ogasawara is a friend of Hirano’s. When he has a fight with his girlfriend, he often visits Hirano to get emotional support. The two share their feelings about being seen in BL contexts around them.

ICHINOSE AO

Hirano’s first year roommate, Ichinose (Yi noLai Qing), is laid back and open-minded. He was happy to let Hirano do his thing, but he stood by Hirano when Hirano was asked about his bleached hair. Hirano is Hirano_, despite him being one year older, perhaps due to dorm traditions.

HIRANO’S FAMILY

Hirano is an alone child. His family lives in an apartment building. His mother affectionately refers to him as Taiga-chan, and they seem to be in a good relationship.

Hirano is “plain, open-field” (Ping Ye). Taiga means “river, stream” (Da He ).

Hirano’s hair is extremely damaged from the repeated dyeing. Although he prefers to keep his hair light, he dyes it sometimes black when he meets with relatives or at the end of school. Hirano keeps his phone and wallet in his pocket. He has bound them with tape. Hirano is able to fight. Hirano likes yakitori. Hirano orders his lunch from the school shop or buys it at home.
