Netflix renewed Young Royals season 2 and teased its release in 2022. The new season of Young Royals has not been released and no date has been confirmed. However, Netflix did offer an exciting filming update about the new season.
We expected to see Young Royals season 2, at the earliest, on Netflix sometime in spring or summer 2022. We usually have to wait at most one year between new Netflix seasons. However, there are a few factors that could reduce that time, such as the writing process being completed or the production moving quickly.

Young Royals season 2 filming status
As announced in a promotional video , the second season of Young Royals began filming in February 2022. Netflix announced that the filming for the new episodes had been completed on Twitter on May 11.
Netflix shows can take six months to complete post-production, so the season 2 release would be in November 2022. It’s a good sign that filming is finished before summer. We’ll be watching for updates from Netflix and the cast leading up to the announcement.

Young Royals Season 2 plot: What’s the second season about?
The couple’s relationship soon fell apart after August released a sex tape featuring Wilhelm and Simon. Wilhelm tried to hide his involvement to protect his family. However, Simon was also deceived.
Wilhelm asks Simon in the finale of season one if they are able to continue being together secretly. Any more could cause damage to the Crown’s reputation. Simon decides that this is not enough and ends all relations between them. He thinks so, as it becomes clear that the teens still have feelings for one another at the end.
In season 2, will Wilhelm still follow his mother’s wishes? We doubt it. We doubt it. Simon and he will still be seeing each other at Hillerska so there will be plenty of sexual tension in future episodes.
Season 2 of Young Royals will see more conflict between duty/desire, and the aftermath from August’s betrayal. We didn’t trust him!
Omar Rudberg, an actor, suggested that Netflix had confirmed the return to Young Royals before it was officially confirmed by Netflix (via The Mud Mag). He said that things would “go crazy” no matter what happens.
Omar said, “I don’t really know what’s going to happen.” Omar said, “But if I look at the series and consider what it reveals about characters at the conclusion of the series then I feel that there is a lot of things that are going to happen.” It would be incredible if there was a second season, which I hope there is. It’s crazy. The drama is on a new level.

This means that good things are on the horizon for Simon and Wilhelm.
No matter what happens, season 2’s storylines will be dense. There’s plenty of material to fit into the six-episode series.
“There were a lot of storylines cut in season one. As is the case every time, and I have a problem trying to squeeze in too much,” Ambjorn said. “So I feel like we haven’t even started touching on some themes and character development, so there is still a lot of unpacking to do,” Ambjorn, head writer, told .
“It’s about what happens to a power structure that has a long history. Because males have been at the top of this power historically, it felt right to center it around masculinity. It’s almost a triangle drama between Wilhelm and Simon, in that August and Simon are competing for Wilhelm’s attention and pushing and pulling him in various directions.
