As the days grow shorter and the anticipation builds for Season 2 of “The Old Man,” it’s important to know when that release date will be. According to sources, Season 2 of “The Old Man” is set to air in 2019. This means that we won’t see it until after the 2020 election season has finished. It’s also worth noting that this information comes from a source who is not reliable and should not be taken as gospel. So what does this mean for fans? The story is based on Thomas Perry’s novel with the same title. It is based on Bridges’ Dan Chase, who’s been living away from the world since leaving the CIA years ago. As the FBI’s assistant director for Counterintelligence Harold Harper (Lithgow) is working alongside his protégée (and his secret girlfriend) Angela Adams (Alia Shawkat) and CIA Special Agent Raymond Waters (E.J. Bonilla) -is assigned to track Chase to the bottom of the barrel due to their complex background. Special operations Contractor Julian Carson (Gbenga Akinnagbe) is also assigned to locate the man. Chase encounters Zoe McDonald (Brenneman) when the room he leases from her. Their relationship develops into very complicated (not solely due to their blackmail).

He explains that Bote would like to stop the war with Hamzad and the only way to achieve this is to surrender Chase to Hamzad, the Afghan warlord. Chase finding no other choice chooses to take an unchartered plane at an airstrip nearby for a meeting with Hamzad. Harper is able to convince Chase to accept the offer if follows through with the agreement, Bote will free Angela Adams/Emily Chase. Chase is able to send Zoe home to go back home , and is ready to embark on a one-way road trip for a meeting with Hamzad.
Harper is the driver who takes Chase to the airstrip and they talk about their friendship with Angela. Harper inquires of Chase about his relationship with Belour and the connection with Angela. But, Chase dodges the question. The flashbacks reveal how Hamzad had a confrontation with Belour along with young Dan Chase about their betrayal in releasing Suleyman Pavlovic. Belour disclosed the presence of a mine ore that she tried to hide from Hamzad because she was afraid it could affect him. But, Young Chase became convinced that Hamzad was going to kill Belour for her treason and asked Harper’s help to escape the Hamzad’s prison and make it to the USA.
In the other area, a group security guards surrounds the area in which Agent Waters and his team are staying with Angela Adams. Julian Carson and Mike formulate an idea to move Angela to a secure place. Their van, however, is targeted during the move. In the meantime, Harper learns of the attack on Angela and asks Chase for information about the events that occurred in the crash of Morac Air Flight-31 that would cause Hamzad be tempted to take anger on Chase and pursue Angela. The Old Man Finale Ending: Where Is Angela Adams?
When Harper and Chase are informed of an attack against Angela the two change their plans and head towards the location in which Agent Waters was keeping her. But Agent Rahmani who is responsible for making sure that Chase is allowed to board the plane warns Harper that he will not let them escape. This means that Chase and Harper have to take out Rahmani as well as his Moroccan Secret Service Agents following them. Chase is quick to take on the enemy by shooting down their vehicles with a high degree of accuracy. Chase and Harper are on their way to the base. Harper fully acknowledges Angela as his daughter , despite the lies that are fed on him by Chase and Bote.
When the two arrive at the town’s central location by searching for the Agent Waters vehicle, Harper finds the CIA agent and Mike dead. Additionally, Angela is missing from the van, which leaves her fate to be a mystery. A dismayed Chase discovers that Angela is actually Hamzad’s biological child. When Hamzad fled his camp together with Belour and Belour, they brought Hamzad’s daughter Parwana along with them and then smuggled her into United States without the knowledge of Harper or Morgan Bote.
In the end, it becomes clear that Hamzad is responsible for the abduction of Angela. This is also confirmed during the final minutes of the episode when Angela arrives in Afghanistan and is confronted by her father of birth, Faraz Hamzad. The show ends with a depressed Chase and Harper making plans for their next steps in the hopes of bringing Angela back.

Is Morgan Bote Working With Faraz Hamzad?
The most intriguing characters that was introduced in the show’s debut season was Joel Grey’s Morgan Bote, the FBI Director who is on the brink of retiring. Bote is revealed to be the father figure and mentor of the two characters, Dan Chase and Harold Harper. So, it’s not amazing that Bote is averse to his sons and attempts to harm them. Bote is the one behind the task force that includes Agent Waters, Julian Carson and Mike who abducts Angela Adams and uses her to pressure Chase to surrender for Faraz Hamzad. Given the emotional connection Bote has with Chase and Harper It is a mystery why he would want to thwart them.
However, Chase and Harper risk everything in order to protect their child. Therefore, the two different situations indicate that Bote has a secret relationship with Hamzad with no reason. As viewers get to know Bote it is clear that the FBI Director is only concerned with his reputation in the public eye. So, it’s likely that he is trying to keep his illegal activities in the dark and is receiving Hamzad’s aid in this regard. If the same turns out to be the case, the show may be creating Morgan Bote as the true antagonist of the show. But, viewers will need to wait for the second season to get to know more about Bot
The Old Man Season 2 Release Date Speculation
FX revealed the show’s debut season for 2019 but the network stopped production two times during filming, due to the COVID-19 virus as well as Jeff Bridges’ lymphoma diagnosis in the year 2020. The Old Man eventually restarted production in partnership with Bridges and wrapped up filming in the early part of 2022. With the number of unexpected delays the production schedule of Season 1 isn’t an outline for Season 2, as we are able to assume that the next season will have a more peaceful schedule of filming. In the absence of any setbacks Season 2 will likely premiere in the mid-to-late 2023 timeframe.
The Old Man Season 2 Plot
Season 2 is likely to be a continuation of the search for Chase -or, at least, if Chase doesn’t end up being captured initially. While on the run in the first season the pair meet Zoe (Amy Brenneman) who is his ally while being on the run. Both are in the sights from Harold Harper (John Lithgow) who is an FBI agent who specializes in counterintelligence. The mission of Harper is to find Chase since the two have an unsavory past that began during the war between Afghanistan and Soviet Russia. Harper utilizes his student Angela (Alia Shawkat) to assist him in his search; however, elsewhere an armed hitman with his name Julian Carson (Gbenga Akinnagbe) is also following Chase’s trail.
Although it is the source material Thomas Perry’s novel is a stand-alone story. Without any sequel to the novel, The Old Man could be forced to venture into uncharted territory in Season 2. It’s only possible if they’ve totally modified Perry’s book.
The Old Man Season 2 Cast
Medias confirmed that the major stars will return for Season 2. John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman and, obviously, Jeff Bridges are set to be the main actors in the second season. As the future of Alia Shawkat’s character still in the air ahead of Season 1’s final episode There are some doubts as to whether she’ll be back for Season 2. For the other cast members they’ll have to endure the wrath Dan Chase if they want to remain. If they’re able to make it however, it doesn’t appear that season 2 is as enjoyable for them.
