It is unlikely that this series will return for another run. If the creators decide to continue the anime with a new storyline, it will be a miracle. Even though there are slim chances of this happening, Sing “Yesterday’ For Me Season 2 could return before the end 2022.

Yesterday Wo Utatte Anime Review

It was able to create a fandom with its simple storylines and regular characters. Although the storyline may seem linear, the show’s unique approach is what makes it stand out. Although this anime may not be for everyone, once you get to know the peaceful atmosphere and its beautiful characters, there’s no turning back.

Although the first eleven episodes were well-executed and enjoyable, the season finale was disappointing. It was too fast and summarized the story abruptly. This episode received negative reviews due to its pacing. The plot is subtle and flows well. The show is entertaining and the characters are fantastic. The final episode could have been rushed. This would make the show a lot more enjoyable.

Season 2: Renewal Status!

We already mentioned that the anime received some bad reviews because of its messy ending. It received mixed reviews from both the critics as well as the public. It actually had a negative impact on its ratings, with a score of 6.97 from MAL. It had some problems with its ending, particularly in the story. The show managed to finish the story of its protagonists. The twelfth anime episode, on the other hand, adapted the last chapter of the eleventh volume and skipped the chapters between.

Doga Kobo does not have enough material to make Sing “Yesterday”, For Me Season 2. It is unlikely that the manga series will return. It is unlikely that the anime series will be revived.

Season 2 Story: Sing “Yesterday” for Me

Season 1 of Sing “Yesterday”, consists of three main characters: Shinako Morinome, Haru Nonaka and Rikou Uozumi.

Rikou Uozumi is a college graduate who happens to be a Lazy Lad living a boring and meaningless existence. He works in Tokyo’s convenience store, unsure of what his future holds. His life is made more interesting when Haru Nonaka (an eccentric young girl) makes frequent visits to his workplace to meet him. Haru works in a milking station and has a pet crow who accompanies him.

Rikou, on the other hand has feelings for Shinako, his college friend. He reaches out and tries to improve their relationship when he discovers she has returned to town. Rikou doesn’t know the burden Shinako carries with her. Rikou is not aware of the past burden Shinako carries with her.

Haru continues to openly discuss his feelings with Rikou, realizing that she is living a life of uncertainty. With the help Shinako, Shinako’s pet crow, Rikou finds his ex-girlfriend. We are treated to a unique and great first season with just the right amount romance and drama. Many were not satisfied with the conclusion, as it seemed too fast.

The trailer for the sequel is not yet available as there are no official announcements. Despite it being the most popular Anime Series of 2020, it is unlikely that this series will return.
