Disney’s live action adaptation of the Harry Potter series is set to air its first episode in November of this year. However, there is still no release date for the show. Some speculate that the delay may be due to the new movie, “A Wrinkle in Time,” but it’s also possible that Disney wants to make sure that they have all of their ducks in a row before releasing the show. The Sound of Magic is streaming on Netflix for just a few days. This means that we will have to wait several weeks before finding out if the K-Drama will continue.
This is because Netflix can take several weeks to collect all the necessary viewership data from around the globe. The number of subscribers who watched the entire series, the number that stopped watching after a few episodes and the total hours viewed the series are often factors in determining renewal.
We expected a stronger launch for The Sound of Magic. However, the show’s first week of release saw almost ten millions of hours of viewing. The show also made it into the Netflix top ten list.
The Sound of Magic is already in the top ten of 42 countries and has reached the number one spot for many countries, including the UAE, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia. We expect The Sound of Magic will reach the number 1 spot in South Korea, where it already reached the number 2 spot.
We anticipate a rise of popularity in the coming weeks, and enough viewing hours for Netflix to decide whether The Sound of Magic should continue for a second season.

When discussing a second season of The Sound of Magic, the elephant in the room is whether the story really needs another season. This is due to the fact that many story threads from the first season have been wrapped up by episode 6.
The source material is also an issue. The webtoon only had seven chapters. If you add the prologue, it would have been eight. The writers would have to do more than just cover the source material for a second season.
We could see the following storylines in season 2, if the writers were willing and able to extend the story beyond the first season.
Ri Eul, the magician, was never seen again. Ri Eul disappeared and was never seen after Ah-Yi used magic. Will Ah-Yi continue to explore magic and will Ri Eul be able to share more of his secrets with her?Will Ri Eul ever be freed? Ri Eul was framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Will a second season bring Ri Eul’s name to an end?Ah-Yi’s father fulfilling his promise to find a job that would pay off his debts will this give Ah-Yi freedom to pursue a new career in magic?Ah-Yi, abandoned by her mother, has long pined for her mother and left her letters and messages in the hope that she will one day return. Ah-Yi is making a living and her mother’s return could prove to be more disruptive. Ah-Yi is interested in a budding relationship with Na Il. This relationship will be explored further in season 2. We expect Na Il to drop out of college and he attempts to take back control of his own life from his parents.
