There are many other ways to get some flax. One method is to use your retainers.
Similar to other crafting materials There are also ventures on which your retainers may start to find flax specifically. The quest for exploration of flax can be assigned to your retainers once they attain the level 31 Botanist.
They will take between 40 minutes and up to an hour and be rewarded with between 15 and 50 flax pieces based on how well-designed retention devices are.
