What is The Chelsea Detective All About?
Adrian Scarborough ( Gavin & Stacey Miranda) plays DI Max Arnold. He is a recently divorced officer who lives in a boathouse and hopes to reunite with his wife. He is smart, determined, and, perhaps most importantly, doesn’t care about his wealth or status when it’s about getting justice. He was raised by a local bookshop proprietor and is a Chelsea resident for life – but not the elite group of people who make up the majority of the neighborhood.
He works with DC Priya Shamsie (Sonita) to investigate the deaths in Chelsea, a beautiful and upscale area with a dark underbelly of corruption, greed, and murder. Shamsie was born and raised in Streatham. This vibrant, but less wealthy area of London is where Shamsie grew up.

Henry and Scarborough are joined by Anamaria Marina ( Sex traffic) to play DI Arnold’s wife Astrid. Lucy Phelps is DC Jess Lombard’s tech expert, while Peter Bankole ( Peaky Blinders), plays the role of rookie officer DC Connor Pollock. Sophie Stone ( Shetland), serves as Chief Forensics Officer Ashley Wilton. Frances Barber ( Whitstable pearl) is DI Arnold’s mother.
The Chelsea Detective was developed and executive produced by Peter Fincham . (I’m Alan Partridge). Episodes have been written so far by Glen Laker ( Vera and Prime Suspect),Fincham and Liz Lake ( Riviera and Call the Midwife).
Ella Kelly ( Midsomer Murders), is the series producer. Richard Signy ( death in Paradise , Silent Witness ), and Darcia Martin( Call the Midwife) are the directors.
We haven’t seen any news about guest stars or returning actors for season 2, but will update as soon as we learn more.
When will Season 2 of The Chelsea Detective premiere?

Season 2 of The Chelsea Detective will begin filming in autumn 2022. We expect season 2 to premiere sometime in spring 2023, considering the filming date and that season 1 aired in March.
Remember that this is a guess based on casting notices sent out this week. We’ll update this article with additional information as soon as we receive official details from Acorn TV.

It won’t surprise anyone who is familiar with London’s neighborhoods that The Chelsea Detective was set in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It’s about as posh as it gets, with many homes occupied by royals, millionaire/billionaire business types, and oligarchs.
You can search for “Chelsea” on Zoopla if you are interested in local real estate. One-bed flats and studios are available for as little as 300k to 500k GBP (roughly $400 to 600k), while semi-detached luxury homes can cost up to 20-30 million GBP.
This area is home of Hyde Park and Kensington Palace, as well as the Saatchi Gallery (natural history museum), the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, and the Royal Albert Hall. It also houses some of the most wealthy people in the world. The area is also home to the US’ largest American population, approximately 6.5% of Chelsea residents being born here.
Between Chelsea and Belgravia is Sloane Square. This square is where the “Sloane Rangers”, or Sloane Rangers, get their names. It’s a nickname for someone who is wealthy, educated, and sophisticated. Sloane Rangers have been used to describe Lady Diana and the Duchess Of Cambridge.
