Shido Itsuka is a popular Japanese singer and actor who has been in the music industry for over 20 years. He is best known for his work as a member of the popular Japanese pop group, Date A Live. Date A Live was formed in 1984 and has since released over 30 albums and singles. They are considered one of Japan’s most successful groups and have toured throughout the world. Shido Itsuka has also appeared in several films and television shows including the hit series, Naruto. Born on December 12th, 1965, Shido Itsuka started his musical career at the age of 15 when he joined the band Date A Live as a drummer. He would go on to play on all of their albums until their 1993 release, “Aishiteru”. After leaving Date A Live, Shido Itsuka continued to make music under his own name until he joined forces with fellow musician Tetsuya Shimomura in 2006 to form the band Shimomura Tetsuya & Itsuka Tetsuya. Since forming Date ALive, Shido Itsuka has released six studio albums and two live albums. His latest album is “Kimi no Na Wa” which was released on October 25th, 2018. The album debuted at number one on the Japan Albums Chart and sold over 100,000 copies within its first week of release.
He was murdered by Isaac Ray Peram Westcott thirty years ago. Mio Takamiya, the First Spirit, kissed him and turned him into a light. She then absorbed him within her body for his childbirth.
This allowed him to absorb and seal Spirits’ powers in him by kissing their lips. He was adopted by the Itsuka family as a youngster. He also has a younger foster sister, Kotori Itsuka and a biological younger sister, Mana Takamiya.
Nobunaga Shimizaki voices him in the Japanese anime, while Josh Grelle voices him in the English version. Josh Grelle also voices Shinichi and Eugeo in the English version. He is voiced in Season 4 Episodes 5-6 by Austin Tindel, while Josh Grelle recuperates from being sick.
What is The Appearance Of Shido Itsuka ?
Shido is a typical high school student. Blue hair that falls to the neck and amber-colored eyes, Shido has straight hair and bangs. His school uniform is often seen on him. In the anime, his height is 170 cm. In order to communicate with Miku Izayoi during Miku Lily Arch’s events, Shido crossesdresses as Shiori Itsuka as a girl. He was seen wearing the standard Raizen High School uniform and long, blue hair during his crossdressing. A hair clip that looked like a flower was also on his head was another thing he had.
What is The Psychological Description Of Shido Itsuka ?
A typical young man who initially had no interest in the other gender until his little sister forced him to. He has to deal with women on a daily basis which is something he’s not used to. Kotori also describes Shido as a unique personality: “oniichan had become strangely sensitive towards the despair within people. It’s like every person rejecting themselves and believing that no one can love them. This is basically what he was like back then. He would likely go to any extent possible to help someone with such a melancholic expression, even though it was a stranger. “
Shido is also kind-hearted and can sympathize with others. These traits are what make most Spirits fall in love. The only thing that they seem to lack most is a person who can do this, i.e. Accept and understand them. Even Miku, who used to treat everyone as puppets, found that he changed her entire worldview. He is also strong and friendly, willing to forgive others. He is willing to take on the risk of sacrificing his own safety to save the Spirits.
Responding to Natsumi’s comment about his troubles, he says that his actions are similar to those he experienced during his previous attempts to help spirits. He can only compare her actions with his own past efforts to help spirits, and can only label her actions childish pranks despite the fact she almost destroyed his reputation, erased all his friends, and would have then erased him if she had succeeded. Kurumi is treated the same way by him. He tells her he will save Kurumi and that there’s nothing she could do to convince him otherwise.
Even though he is a great person, Shido has a limit to his patience. Before Miku was sealed, he found her annoying. He even said that he hated Miku. However, there are times when he is too kind for his own good. When Natsumi revealed to him that she had taken the form of one his friends, Shido didn’t want to believe it. Kotori was forced to remind Shido what’s at stake. He can’t let his personal feelings cloud his judgment.
Story
Shido’s past is tangled in mystery and rife with questions. We don’t know who his parents were, why he was abandoned and why Shido is the only person in the world capable of sealing the Spirits. What is his relationship to the Phantom? How did Sir Isaac Ray Peram Westcott get involved with him? And most importantly, “What is Shido Itsuka?” “.
Shido, who was abandoned by his mother at birth, was adopted into the Itsuka family at a young age. A miscommunication on the part of Kotori caused him to become a Spirit five years ago. He was tricked into becoming one. However, neither of them remembers anything about that incident. Kotori used her powers again five year later to awaken those memories.
Although it was discovered that Shido has the ability to seal Spirit powers, it isn’t known how. Shido may have known Origami Tobiichi before the incident. She claimed to have known him at school when they first met, while Shido didn’t remember anything.
It is revealed that Origami had met the future Shido during the events at Tobiichi Devil. He traveled back five years using Kurumi’s Yud Bet, and then he shrinks his body with Natsumi’s power to discover the cause of Origami’s Inversion. Shido comforts Origami who was on the brink of despair after rescuing him from being crushed by the burning part of a building. Origami responded that she would give anything to him, and that she doesn’t feel despair. Origami said that she will give him tears, joy, happiness and all her feelings except her anger at the spirit that killed her parents.
What Are The Powers & Abilities Of Shido Itsuka Date A Live ?
Shido is able to secretly seal the power of Spirits into his body. This ability was discovered when Kotori was transformed into a Spirit. The Spirit must fulfill certain conditions or requirements before he can seal the power of a Spirit. These conditions or requirements include that the Spirit must demonstrate affection, trust and closeness towards Shido. When these conditions of affection between Shido & the Spirit are sufficient, Shido can kiss them on the lips to seal their power.
Shido can seal all or a portion of the power of the Spirit, depending on how powerful they were at one time. Shido can “borrow” the power from a Spirit that he has sealed. However, this depends on how intimate or close he is to that Spirit. This is how his regenerative powers are explained. It seems, however, that his body is subject to great pain when he uses a Spirit’s power other than regeneration.
He has used Kotori’s healing power and learned Tohka’s Sandalphon. Later, he was able to summon Yoshino’s ice. However, he was unable to summon these powers from his own free will until the Natsumi case, when he managed to pull out Sandalphon deliberately.
Shido also has a high level of Spirit energy in his body that makes him immune to the abilities of Spirits. He can withstand Kurumi Takisaki’s City of Devouring Time without difficulty and is unaffected from Miku’s Solo.
If the Spirits’ emotions become too unstable, their powers may return to them and Shido will be left. He will have to seal them again if their powers return fully, but this usually results in the Spirits temporarily regaining some of their original power. As demonstrated in the Kotori and Tohka cases, it is possible for Spirits to regain their full powers without becoming emotionally unstable.
Shido is also an excellent cook and has learned to use makeup at a level comparable with most girls. His ability to act convincingly was enough for him to fool Miku, his schoolmate, and Miku herself who was a serious man-hater at the time.
Trivia
Shido has two little sisters. Kotori Itsuka is his foster sister, and Mana Takamiya his real sister. Both Shido & Mana are amnesic about their pasts. Phantom erased their memories from 5 years ago for both Shido & Kotori. Isaac Westcott appears to have discovered Shido’s true identity by calling Shido his real surname, Takamiya, before retreating towards the end of Volume 7. (Season 2 Episode 10 in anime)Shido was the one who gave Kotori the black ribbons because it was her birthday. He had sealed her powers in her past. His family name, “Itsuka”, means “Five Streams/Rivers”. His first name is “Samurai’s Code”, a reference to his loyal personality, and dedication. All the powers that Shido has sealed were used in the order they were sealed. He sealed Kotori first, and can use her regeneration power. Yoshino can use Tohka’s Sandalphon and Yoshino’s ice powers, who he sealed 2nd & 3rd, respectively. This is later contradicted by Natsumi who was at the time the last one he sealed. However, he used her powers prior to Yamai or Miku’s. Tohka made a promise that Shido would never kiss another girl except her. Shido therefore always attempts to secure the Spirit’s powers even when Tohka’s not looking. Tohka is always the one who ends up on the scene, unfortunately for Shido. Tohka was able to walk in on the Yamai twins sealing their powers. It happened again in the anime when Miku was getting his power sealed. After the artificial satellite was stopped, it happened again with Natsumi From crashing onto Tenguu. In all three cases they kissed him even though he was not expecting it. Shido could not recall meeting Origami, even though she claimed that she knew him at the time. Volume 11 reveals that Shido first met Origami when he was 5 years ago. Indirectly, Shido was also responsible for her new personality after the death of her parents.
