HISTORIES

Arc 1

Pecorine is confronted by a Rock Golem.

Eustiana takes a refreshing bath by a waterfall and then puts on her tiara. A Rock Golem suddenly appears in front of Eustiana and attacks. Eustiana is able quickly to defeat the monster using one swing of her blade. However, her stomach starts to growl and Eustiana expresses her disgust at the situation.

She comes across two strangers while hiking through the woods. They offer food that she quickly eats. They introduce themselves as Yuuki, and Kokkoro. The latter was puzzled by Eustiana’s eating of their food, and both gave her the nickname “Pecorine”. Eustiana is taken aback by the nickname and decides to use it. They hear a girl cries for help and are chased by monsters.

Pecorine and her friends help the girl, who introduces itself Yui. However, they discover another girl, a beastfolk. As more monsters emerge, this girl is knocked unconscious. Pecorine and the others decide to team up to escape the woods and reach Landosol. She escapes with Yuuki Kokkoro, Yui, and Yuuki. Yuuki and Kokkoro take the beastfolk girls to the clinic. Pecorine and Yuuki meet again during the first month at the restaurant she works part time in. She invites him to dine with her as a way to pay him back for the food they shared when they first met. This allows them to become close friends.

Pecorine fights monsters that attack Elizabeth Park’s farm.

Pecorine and Yuuki form a guild, which they call the Gourmet Guild. The other members are Kokkoro, the beastfolk girl Karyl. Pecorine meets Yuuki while out in the woods. Yuuki had taken up a job hunting monsters. Yuuki is told she is hungry and Yuuki is offered a bag of cookies. The two then talk, with Pecorine telling Yuuki that she plans to return to the road to continue her adventure.

She also said that it was tradition for her family. Pecorine offers to go with him hunting monsters in exchange for Yuuki’s cookies. He accepts. The pair then hear a young girl crying out for help. They look back to find a beastfolk young girl. Yuuki recognizes her as Rin and chases them with a bunch of monsters. She then asks for their assistance. After defeating the monsters Pecorine, Yuuki and Rin learn from Rin that her guild’s farm Elizabeth Park is under attack by rampaging beasts and she was looking for help. Yuuki and Pecorine decide to join her in helping.

Pecorine, Yuuki and Rin are stunned to discover the devastation unfolding in front of them as they reach the farm’s outskirts. She suggests that Yuuki, Rin and Landosol go to Landosol to get help. However, Yuuki and Rin are not willing to leave Yuuki alone and instead decide to fight alongside her. The trio hears this and decide to save Elizabeth Park members. Pecorine takes the lead and eliminates any monsters in their path. They race through the crowd and notice smoke coming out of the barn, which Rin interprets as a distress signal. So they go there.

After overcoming every obstacle in their path, they finally open the barn to find Lima inside. Shiori, Elizabeth Park’s Guild Master and Mahiru, meet up with them. Pecorine plans to lure the monsters towards the woods alone and tells Yuuki that she will go with Mahiru, Shiori Kashiwazaki and the other members to escape. Pecorine lures all the monsters towards her, while Yuuki and Elizabeth Park flee the farm.

Pecorine then runs away from the monsters, losing them. Unaware that Karyl and a woman called Christina Morgan are following her, she wanders through the woods on her own. When Karyl hesitates, the latter appears before Pecorine and engages her in a fight.

Yuuki is saved by Pecorine after he fell.

Pecorine, who has been relentlessly following Christina and knows her identity, decides to flee from Christina at nightfall. Pecorine quickly retreats, and decides to retaliate. Pecorine is able talk Christina down and tell her to stop following after her. But just as they are about to start talking, Pecorine sees a twinkle in a cloud and Yuuki is freefalling.

Pecorine initially doesn’t see the problem, but when she realizes Yuuki is at risk of death if he falls to the ground at such a speed and height, she quickly races off to save him. Pecorine sprints through the forest pushing the limits of her Royal Equipment to their maximum output and catches Yuuki just inches from the ground.

Pecorine asks Yuuki to tell him he’s fine and then smiles as she realizes their situation is not what it seems. Christina follows Yuuki as he gets up. Two other people are also present, Muimi, and Rajiraji. Pecorine and the other members are alerted to a danger hovering above them before they can communicate with each other. They find a beastfolk women looking down at them all, whom Pecorine recognizes to be the woman who took her identity, Eustiana von Astraea.

“Eustiana”, who is shocked to see Pecorine with the others, is nevertheless happy with what she sees. Pecorine learns from the others that “Eustiana”, who lured them all to one place to kill them all, is plotting to kill them all. This shocks Christina, who was loyal to Eustiana. A woman introduces herself to the group as Labyrista. She had been looking for Yuuki. As they are being attacked, “Eustiana”, a battalion-level spell is fired at them all. Pecorine is bracing for impact and Pecorine is preparing for the worst.

Pecorine, who was just returning from a temple visit, is found asleep next to Yuuki at Sarendia Orphanage By Kokkoro a short time after the attack. Suzume is the Sarendia Orphanage maid and finds them all asleep together. She quickly demands that they all get up and explain their actions.

Pecorine tells her friends her true identity.

Pecorine makes breakfast every morning for the orphanage. Her cooking impresses Ayane as well as Kurumi. Suzume then asks her how Yuuki and she got back to the orphanage after she learned that Yuuki and she were involved in an incident at Elizabeth Park last night. Pecorine describes the situation but Yuuki and she don’t know how they survived “Eustiana”, which unleashed a battalion-level curse on them last night. Pecorine discovers her true identity, she is Princess Eustiana von Astraea, the royal heir of the kingdom Landosol. Suzume, Kokkoro and Kokkoro are stunned to hear this.

She claims that the woman currently on the throne is a fake, who stole her identity, and took her life. Yuuki recognizes the individual she is referring to, Mana Senri. Pecorine discovers that Yuuki and Mana had a conversation before he was sent plummeting to the ground. She asks him to tell her, but she says she wants to leave now as she believes she will endanger their lives by her presence. Yuuki refuses her to go by herself and agrees to join her in helping her. Kokkoro also joins them.

They decide to go to Elizabeth Park first to inform Saren that everything is fine. They arrive at Elizabeth Park’s camp and find no one except Matsuri. Pecorine and the other members of the group are informed that they, along with some other guilds, had returned to the farm to aid in the rebuilding effort. However, Matsuri’s bewildered expression when Pecorine hears Nightmare’s name makes Matsuri mistake them for bad guys. Pecorine is further harmed when Tomo one Nightmare’s knights also misunderstands and fights Pecorine.

Before their fight, Pecorine meets Tomo.

Pecorine is shocked when Tomo can keep up with her through sheer skill. Pecorine and the other fighters learn that Mana has been left bedridden since last night’s attack. Tomo calls off their fight after she spots Yuuki and recognizes him as a person she was looking for from her guild. Pecorine softly interjects, saying they should hurry and reunite with Elizabeth Park.

Tomo agrees to take them on a carriage ride and then continue their conversation as they travel to the farm. Pecorine and her friends leave Tomo and Matsuri when they arrive at Elizabeth Park. They still need to make supply runs to support the rebuilding of Elizabeth Park. Pecorine discovers from Tomo, that Christina was taken to jail and that the Royal Castle has a shortage of staff. Tomo warns her and the others not to do anything suspicious, or they will fight again. Pecorine asks Yuuki next what to do. They decide to find Saren, the Elizabeth Park members. They reunite with Lima at that point, who is relieved to see Yuuki and her safe.

TRIVIA

Pecorine’s quote ‘pekopekonopekorinu!’ / ‘Peko Peko no Pecorine’ is actually a play on words with nickname. “Peko peko” is an onomatopoeia that means “hungry”. Kokkoro gave her a nickname, “Pecorine” (“Peko-ing”) because she is always hungry. Pecorine is a nickname that sounds like peccary, which refers to an animal related to pigs as well as the “Pecorino Cheese”. After her family, the continent of Astraea is named. Pecorine cannot speak Japanese and needs a MIMI device to translate. Pecorine’s Princess form also earned her the nicknames of “desuteinipekorinu”, and “Ming Yun Pei Ke” (Destiny Pecorine), as her wings are similar to , a certain mecha from a particular robot anime. She was playable in Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy cross-event: “PrincessConnect Re: Dive!” – Dinner at The Turned Table An SSR is permanently available from the archived side-story. She was made playable at the Cygames’ Dragalia Lost crossover: “PrincessConnect Re: Dive!” – A Voracious Visitor”. She is an integral part of the 5* character gacha. Pecorine’s equipment can convert calories into energy when worn. This is perhaps one reason why Pecorine has such a fervent appetite.
