The story of Kozuki Oden

Is Oden Alive ? Oden was born in the Flower Capital to the shogun Kozuki Sukiyaki 59 year before the present. He began performing outrageous acts in his infancy. Oden threw his wet nurse across a room when he was just one year old. He caught two rabbits at 2 years old with his naked hands. At 4 years, he killed a bear by throwing a boulder at him. At 6 years old, he began roaming the Red-Light District. He also spent his castle’s money in the pleasure halls.

He started to drink booze at age 8 and began fighting with gamblers. Even the yakuza banned Oden from their casino at age 9. Oden set fire to their casino and started a dispute with them. This led to his capture one year later, after almost killing someone.

He took the white boar from Kin’emon when he tried to attack the Mountain God .after Kin’emon was defeated, Oden used the White Boar to attract the attention of the Mountain God. He felled the giant beast with a single blow as it charged at him.

Oden knocked Kin’emon out, and took full responsibility for the attack by the Mountain God. The aide to his father delivered a message to Oden, stating that he would be disowned and exiled by the Flower Capital. Oden didn’t seem upset when he got the decree. He viewed it as his father and the Flower Capital not being able to contain his greatness. Kin’emon, Denjiro and Denjiro followed him out of gratitude and awe.

Reforming Kuri

Oden left the capital and moved to Shimotsuki Yasuie at Hakumai. There he met Kurozumi Orochi who was working as a maid. Yasuie became mad at Oden after he refused to accept his father’s challenge and lived as a vagabond. Oden asked Yasuie about his plans to go to sea and Yasuie responded that he needed to be a competent samurai first before he could become so selfish.

Oden is made daimyo by Kuri

Oden was inspired by Ashura Doji and decided to go to Kuri in the most lawless region of Wano. Denjiro and Kin’emon accompanied him on the trip. The group hosted members throughout the adventure through Kikunojo, Izou in Ringo, and Kanjuro in Kibi. Oden entered Kuri by himself and defeated all bandits, including Ashura, the most dangerous criminal in Kuri. Oden defeated all his enemies within a matter of hours, even before his companions arrived. Oden then took the lawless ruffians from Kuri and made it a home.

This brought peace to Kuri. He made the Paradise Farm for the residents to live in and then he had them build the village. After Sukiyaki learned about Oden’s deeds, he was granted the title of Daimyo in Kuri at 20. Oden loaned Orochi money to help him after Orochi left Yasuie as his servant.

Oden found Inuarashi and Nekomamushi while fishing on Kuri Beach 33 years ago. persecuted humans tortured them. Oden saved the three men and gave lectures to those who attempted to set them ablaze. They became Oden’s retainers when the three of them followed him back to Kuri. Oden visited the Mountain God and its child three years later.

He used the proceeds to transport his palanquin through the Flower Capital. Sukiyaki was proud of his son’s achievements and achieved a turnaround. Oden replied that he only grew up and didn’t change much. Oden did not know that this was the last time they spoke.

Oden discovered later that a pirate boat had arrived in Itachi Port. He decided to make the trip. Oden travelled towards the Whitebeard Pirates and clashed with their captain, telling Whitebeard that he wanted his crew to join him. Oden repeatedly asked to become one of the members, but Whitebeard refused to let him in because he knew Oden had no experience in subordinating himself to another person.

Whitebeard had served on a ship that contained many such people and understood how devastating that could be. Oden was unable to resist the pirate’s logic, which caused his enthusiasm to wane.

Oden was able to hold onto the chain that he had attached to his ship two weeks later when the Whitebeard Pirates attempted to take him away. Izou also held on to Oden and was dragged with him. Whitebeard took Izou onto the ship and gave Oden a test. Oden would be allowed to join the crew if he could keep the chain on for three days. Oden was only ten minutes away from his deadline when he heard the troubled woman and let go. He drifted to an isolated island, where he frightened away kidnappers who mistakenly thought him for a sea monster. The woman was saved by his actions.

He met Toki, the woman’s name. The pair were confronted by Karma, and his team. But Whitebeard arrived and defeated Karma. Whitebeard understood that Oden had let go of his desire to help and allowed him to board the ship. Oden boarded the ship and was welcomed by the crew. Oden then discovered that Nekomamushi and Inuarashi had been waiting on Oden. After being welcomed by the crew, Oden discovered that Inuarashi and Nekomamushi had stowed away on the ship, waiting for Oden.

Oden kept a log of his adventures and visited many places in the world.Amazed at the beauty and wonder that surrounded him, Oden was also a well-known outlaw, earning a bounty. Oden found the geography of the world to be fascinating, and the government overseeing it was amazing. After growing closer to Toki, he married her and became a parent during their second year aboard Moby Dick. They named their son Kozuki Momonosuke. Whitebeard divided the crew into five divisions and then appointed Oden as commander of the second division. Toki and Whitebeard would have a daughter, Kozuki Hiyori, two years later.

The Whitebeard Pirates docked on an island and encountered the Roger Pirates. Oden ran towards them to grab their treasure. He engaged the crew in battle and attracted the attention of D.Roger, who was defeated by the pirate, Oden ran towards his opponent and was amazed at how Roger and his captain were fighting.

The two teams began fighting for three more days, until they reached a truce on the fourth day. Oden met with the captains a few days later and told Roger that he could understand the Poneglyphs. Roger was stunned when he revealed his plans to reach the final island in the Grand Line. Roger asked Oden to come along for the year to reach the island. Whitebeard was against the idea because he didn’t want to lose a brother. Oden eventually agreed to Roger’s request to join Roger.

He boarded the Oro Jackson along with his family and discovered that Nekomamushi and Inuarashi had also been onboard. The crew set sail to Mock Town, and then reached Skypiea where Oden read a Poneglyph, and engraved Roger’s message on the Shandorian Golden Belfry Ball. [56] Roger returned to the ocean and Oden informed Roger Wano that he had a Road Poneglyph. Oden invited Cutty Flam, who declined to join the crew, to dock at the island. The crew then sailed to Fishman Island.

Oden read two Poneglyphs on the island and discovered from Neptune what a mermaid is. Oden read another Poneglyph while on a trip to another island. Toki fell ill and the pirates dropped her off at Wano with Nekomamushi, Inuarashi and her children. Oden was able to see that his country had changed even though he didn’t look at it.

The crew was able to learn the contents of Wano’s Poneglyph. Oden experienced a strange vibe upon his arrival at Zou. This was not what Roger and he expected. After seeing the seal of his clan above the stone, Oden discovered that his family was connected to the MinkTribe. After leaving Zou, Oden and his crew found the location of the last island in the New World. They then set sail for it. The crew discovered Joy Boy’s treasure, and they laughed when they saw it.

Roger was grateful that he had joined him and declined to help him open Wano’s borders. Instead, he sought to become Shogun with the help of his retainers and became Shogun.

Homecoming and death

Is Oden Alive ? Roger disbanded the crew 20 years ago and Oden left the ship with him. Oden was then returned to Wano Country by the rest of his crew. He also said goodbye to them. Oden was then reunited to his family and retainers. Oden heard of Orochi’s rise to Shogun, and about how he oppressed the citizens using Kaidou. He heard that his family was under threat and that Toki had been injured while protecting Momonosuke. Oden became furious and ordered his retainers guard his family, before charging to the Flower Capital.

He reached the castle, battled his way through the guards and kicked in the doors to the throne. Oden stopped his attack by Kurozumi Semimaru who used a wall to defend Orochi. Kaidou confronted Oden and they clashed evenly. To stop them from destroying their castle, Orochi used a a href=”https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Bari_no_Mi” title=”Bari Bari no Mi”>barrier to blackmail Oden. Oden would have to dance naked in the Flower Capital at least once per week if Orochi did not take the hostages.

They also promised to leave Wano within five years. In order to prevent Orochi offering innocent people as tribute to the Beasts Pirates and to avoid injuring innocent lives in a fight between him and Kaidou he held onto the agreement and left the castle. Oden then began dancing naked in the streets around the Flower Capital a few hours later.

This happened once per week and caused Wano residents to lose faith in him. Oden was afraid of the worst for the people he loves, so he refused to tell his retainers his motives when they asked. Oden was a year later able to read a foreign newspaper about Roger’s execution. He cried, laughed, and then cried yet again.

Oden asked Toki whether she wanted a divorce the second year after his return. To which she replied that he was joking. Oden later paid Hyogoro’s wife a visit.Three years later, Oden learned that he had captured Hyogoro in defiance and had killed his wife. Oden devastated, he sent a letter to Toki. Oden asks Kaido why Kaido and his men were getting ready. Kaidou responded that there might be a spy at Oden’s castle.

Kaidou mocks Oden’s choice to use a method that doesn’t cause any injuries, saying that he is just like Roger and Newgate, powerful but soft. Oden continued to bomb Kaidou’s army, not regretting his decision 5 years ago.In the battle, Shinobu joined Oden’s side and the battle lasted longer than expected as Oden’s strength exceeded the enemy’s imagination. Kaidou strikes Oden with Bomb Breath, but Oden regains his strength and uses Togen Totsuka in an attempt to severely injure Kaidou.

Kaidou defeats Oden

Oden was about ready to deliver the final blow when he was distracted by Kurozumi Higurashi . She disguised herself to Momonosuke, and pretending to be a hostage so Kaidou could strike him down. Oden claimed Shinobu wasn’t his ally and that he would not save her from Beast Pirates. He then allowed her to go free. Oden and the Scabbards were imprisoned at the Flower Capital and sentenced for being boiled alive within three days.[70] Toki then visited Oden at the prison and handed him his swords, Ame no Habakiri & Enma to her. He asked her to give them to their children.

Kaidou offered Oden per hour in exchange for letting those who survived the execution go free. Oden agreed to this deal on the day of his execution. Oden entered the pot and, before Kaidou joined him, lifted a plank on his shoulders and ordered them to hold it up for an hour. Shinobu, who had spied on Oden’s plan, called them fools. Shinobu also revealed the reasons behind Oden’s actions over the past five-years: To protect and save them. Orochi wanted revenge on the Kurozumi Family crimes and threatened to deliver hundreds more kidnapped citizens back to Kaidou.

Shinobu, who spied on Oden’s actions, called them fools and gave Oden an ultimatum. Oden was to humiliate himself every week in front of everyone to spare 100 lives as part of his reparations to Kurozumi Family. Oden began to comply with Kaidou’s orders in order to protect the citizens and prevent any fight against Orochi. Oden traveled to each region in the week to ensure that nothing had changed. Shinobu pointed out that Oden was actually saving the Wano people and they were the true fools.

Oden was able to tell the citizens how he had protected them over the past five years. They began cheering for Oden’s efforts to survive. Oden endured the heat of the boiling pot, which reached 700 degrees, while his retainers waited. Oden explained to them that the Kozuki Clan had closed the country off to the rest, in order to protect them against a powerful external power. Oden also said that the world is waiting for a certain figure, and that Wano should be ready to work with that figure after an 800-Year Span.

Oden was certain Kaidou and Orochi will kill him, so he asked his retainers to open Wano’s borders in his place. Oden survived, even though Orochi kept increasing the heat. Oden survived the hour but Orochi summoned an execution squad to execute Oden along with his associates. Oden told his retainers once more to open Wano’s borders and then threw them far from the pot. Oden advised Kaidou not to underestimate his Samurai, and that he has a story to go with his drink. Oden thought of his family as his last thoughts. Kaidou shot Oden in his head.

Legacy

The rest of the country mourned his death deeply. His noble reputation restored. Tons of people took arms and were ready to rebel against Orochi and the Beasts Pirates. Kaidou attacked Oden’s remaining family members after Oden died. However, his children survived. Toki sent Momonosuke 20-years ahead of time[109], and Kawamatsu, Denjiro and later Denjiro kept Hiyori alive.[110]

Orochi’s administration rediculed Oden for the next 20 years. people recognized Orochi as a hero for his defeat of Oden.

Orochi tried to paint Oden in a negative light but thousands of Wano citizens were loyal to Oden and his family despite their attempts to make it look bad. Your people in the capital used the flower festival to pray for the Kozuki family and the rebels to end Kaidou’s reign of terror.

Oden had told his retainers that he would continue his quest to open Wano’s borders before he died. Momonosuke and Kin’emon, Kanjuro and Raizo were sent forward in the right time. They also recruited Denjiro and thousands more Kozuki Family sympathizers to help them rise up and bring down Kaidou and Orochi. They also went to the Straw Hat Pirates, Heart Pirates, and Kanjuro, to strengthen their fighting power. The Mink Citizens of Zou, which Inuarashi ruled over, were also recruited.

Whitebeard learned about Kaidou’s death several years later. The Whitebeard Pirates didn’t storm Wano Country to exact revenge. They knew there would be many casualties.

Yamato was an admirer of Oden and when learned that they killed his idol, the latter sank into sadness.Yamato, so devoted to Oden, adopts a dress style that resembles him.

Hiyori, his daughter, decided to leave her Enma heirloom to Zoro partly because she saw Oden’s potential in Zoro as a swordsman. Zoro was the second to scar Kaido, just as Oden had done. It would also be critical to the Kozuki Revolution as Zoro used Enma against the All-Star King, cementing their defeat of the Beast Pirates.

Is Oden Alive ? isn’t he dead?

Unbeknownst to Oden, Kanjuro, Oden’s retainer, was operating as a spy for Kurozumi Family throughout their time together. He used his Devil Fruit powers, drawing a perfect copy of Oden and bringing the drawing to life. Kanjuro used the Oden drawing to fool the Scabbards, and then ambushed them.

“Oden” claimed that Toki had sent him into the future to save his life. Although the ruse fooled most scabbards, Ashura Doji quickly unmasked it and Raizo cited the nature of Toki’s powers. Kanjuro had attached explosives and tried to blow up the Oden drawing, killing all his former comrades. But Ashura Doji and Raizo saw through it and cited the nature of a Toki’s powers.

Oden’s death was finally redeemed when Luffy defeated Kaido and was expelled from Wano. Kurozumi Orochi, his sworn enemy suffered a similar fate, burned alive by Kanjuro’s kazenbo. Oden’s retainer Denjiro executed Orochi, ending Kurozumi’s legacy.
