Bicolor gemstones are mined by the completion of FATEs in particular areas. The process is part the Shared FATE system which was implemented during the Shadowbringers expansion and then continued into Endwalker.

If you can complete any FATE in these zones, you will be rewarded with 12 bicolor stones Certain are simpler to complete than others.

FATEs that can level-sync you to the level cap for your respective expansion will take shorter time to complete because you’ll be killing mobs more quickly Level 80 for Shadowbringers, and level 90 for Endwalkers.

Be aware that lower levels of FATEs also create mobs lower in level.
Thus, while all these FATEs take longer to finish than many FATEs, the level 76 or 86 FATEs are the most efficient.
