Arc Skeleton Knights is a new action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco. It was announced at E3 2019, during Sony’s press conference, and is set in the world of the “Demon’s Souls” series. The game is an open-world action RPG with a unique combat system that borrows from Dark Souls. Players will control one or more characters as they venture through an expansive world filled with enemies and obstacles. Gameplay features include a variety of weapons and armor to choose from, as well as magic that can be used to defeat enemies or solve puzzles. The game is set up so that players can explore for hours on end without ever having to worry about running out of resources or time.
Appearance
Arc’s avatar looks like a knight. He is dressed in full-body armor made of silver and blue, with a dark mantle. It has an appearance that appears as if it was cut from the night sky. Arc stands at 2 meters tall and is intimidatingly tall. His most distinctive trait is his unique body. Under his armor is the body an animated skeleton, whose eyes sockets glow with blue lights.
After he discovered a spring that could temporarily bring him back to life, it is revealed that Arc is a muscular, brown-skinned Dark Elf. His features include long pointed ears, strong jaw and dark eyes. Arc is handsome because of his elf appearance.

Personality
Arc is a laid back individual who is practical. He loves to travel and explore. Arc is a shrewd entrepreneur who seeks out more money. Arc can be considered greedy but this doesn’t mean he is a hypocrite. However, if a moral situation presents itself, Arc will stand up for what is right. His skeleton body prevents him feeling negative emotions.
Arc is a passionate fan of anime, video games, and movies. He will often refer to them in his narration or aloud. For example, he will tell an Undead Chimera creature “I will show the force!” Once he compared an enemy to a Straw Hat’s pirate crew cook. Arc, despite being an honorable man, can sometimes be very perverse and often looks at Ariane in the chest.
Background
After falling asleep online, a Japanese gamer finds himself trapped in an avatar of his game. He is seemingly transported to another world.
Chronology
Light Novel Volume 1
A gamer awakens in the avatar body he created for his online game. He is stunned to find that his customized skin has transformed into a skeleton as he walks by a river. The gamer decides to hide his face and look for people in unfamiliar territory. A band of bandits attack a group from a distance. He contemplates whether to join the fight, but when he sees two men being handled by bandits, he decides to act. The knight introduces himself as Arc and agrees to take the ladies to Rubierute. To avoid Lauren’s father Buckle from asking for his face, he declines to accept a reward. Rita grants him a copper passport that will allow him to travel more easily through the territory.
Arc sells several articles to the bandits to raise funds for a merchant. He then registers at the Rhoden Kingdom’s Mercenary guild. Arc subjugates three beasts in order to be admitted into the guild. He then takes an assignment in Rita Village. Arc kills one of the Giant Basilisk to protect his charge. The other escapes. Later, they come across the Fanged Boar. Arc kills it and gives its body to the village. Marca is asked to not mention the Giant Basilisks in order to prevent panic among the villagers.
After returning to Rubierute, Iron Fang, a mercenary team known as Iron Fang, causes a commotion by killing a Giant Basilisk. Arc is aware that they claim credit for their deed but he lets them go to avoid being noticed. Viscount Buckle is intrigued by the tale of the monster-slaying and questions its validity. Arc offers to testify for them, stating that he witnessed a pair of these creatures in the area. Arc travels to Diento later and is informed by rumors that a group of mercenaries disappeared near the Calcutta Mountain Range. Arc is hunting in the forest when he encounters a group of thieves. But he manages to dispatch them. Arc finds the thieves in a cave, and he kills all of them. Arc sets out to salvage any goods he can and finds a strange, green-colored fox creature locked in a cage. Arc takes pity upon the creature and releases it to heal the wounds that the bandits have inflicted on it. The fox decides to stay with Arc, rather than running free. Arc calls it Ponta.
Ponta and Arc travelled together to Diento, and Arc came across a single figure near the Rydel River. Arc spots the figure and decides to meet him. Arc’s sudden appearance surprised the elf and he prepares to fight. Arc attempts to be sincere, but the elf isn’t comfortable with Ponta and eventually lowers his guard after seeing her. Ponta is a spirit animal and wouldn’t normally approach humans, the elf explained. The elf explained that he was looking for a group of captured Elf before he returned to the forest.
Arc finally reached Diento, and decided the next day to explore the forest. Arc saw a couple of elves fighting against several kidnappers, and decided to explore the forest. After debating whether to interfere or not, the humans tried to force the elves to stop with threats of harming the children. Arc then acted and attacked them. Arc began to rescue the elves from their cage after the kidnappers had been killed. However, the female stopped him and demanded that he be trusted. Ponta’s appearance eased her worries and he was allowed use his magic to heal the children and release them from the Collars of Submission.
Arc accepts a commission from the elves, promising to free their Diento brethren. He and Ariane, who had met Danka by the river, attack the warehouses that house the elves. Surprised, the trio discovers that the slavers had been killed by an unknown group. Arc, who had been separated from the two Elf elves, meets a Ninja as he searches the area. Ponta, the beastman ninja, initially attacks Arc, but she pauses and realizes that he is not her enemy. Arc is given a map showing the locations of the elves held captive in the city by the ninja to help him escape.
Arianna invites Arc to additional contracts after rescuing two captive elves. Due to his current condition, he is reluctant to sign a long-term contract. Arianna learns about Arc’s condition and is shocked to see the difference between him and a normal undead. She agrees to introduce Arc to the elders.
Light Novel Volume 02
Arc was brought to Lalatoya, where he was met by Ariane and his parents. After learning of his condition, and his unique ability to teleport, Arc agreed to help Ariane locate seven missing elves who were still unaccounted after the raid at Diento.
Abilities and powers
Arc’s avatar body reached the highest level of 255 because of his hardcore grind. Arc’s weapons and equipment are mythical in quality. His main occupation is Heavenly Knight with the subclass Pope.
Arc is now in another world than the one he came from. He can use all of his skills from different jobs to obtain the job Heavenly Knight.
Arc is a strong, muscular man. Arc can bend iron bars with ease, release strong air pressure and punch large holes into ships. He can also use his naked hands to strangle and manipulate large monsters without any magic.
Arc is a remarkable kinetic visionist.
He is an elf and can see spiritual magic. However, it is less than he can do.
Skills
Wyvern Strike/Flying Dragon Slash – A sword attack that emits a beam light from the sword. It can cut through many trees. Knight job onlySword of Judgement – A mid-tier battle ability that penetrates the enemy. Shield Bash – This was one of the basic skills of the warrior class, and it was meant to push back enemies. Reanimation – A skill of the Bishop class which can bring back a person to life, but if their body is severely damaged they will simply die. Purification : A skill that can dispel curses, damage, or purify undead. Resurrection is a skill that belongs to high-level job popes. It can revive and fully recharge the target’s life force but it will not work if the body has been damaged or the person has been dead for a prolonged period of time. Execution – This skill can be classified as a Targeted and Untargeted skill from the Holy Knight job. It is considered to be a top-tiered skill. Holy Light Sword Slash – A skill that summons holy light energy to create a sword slash and do holy damage to the target. Holy Protection – A protection skill that can remotely be used
Relationships
Ariane
He makes his first friend since his arrival. They met when Ariane ran to rescue elven children. But the slavers took them as hostages, and they surrounded her with dark intentions for her. Arc uses teleportation to help her. She is initially suspicious but she becomes astonished when she sees an animal spirit on Arc’s head. The late uses an anti-curse spell that moves the collars of slaves and heals them.
She is skeptical, but she insists on employing him as a merchant because she believes Arc can teleport. In return she promises him 10 elven golden coins. He cooperated so well that she was willing to continue to hire him for additional tasks. She brings him back to her village. Arc says this is the beginning of a long adventure. Ariane and Arc get along well. Arc trusts Ariane deeply and would do anything for her to be successful. However, he sometimes finds Ariane cruel when Ariane describes him as a “walking disaster” (or “battle maniac”) but he isn’t aware of his mistakes.
Chiyome
Arc first meets Chiyome in Diento while he attempts to rescue the red quarters elven children. Chiyome mistakenly thought he was a slaver, but she quickly reexamined her judgement when Arc called her “ninja” as well as when Ponta appeared on her shoulder. He was there to help the elves, which she correctly recognized and she gave her the contracts. They meet again at Olav, where Chiyome requests his assistance to release the slave beastmen held captive by the Dekares faction.
Arc quickly trusts Chiyome and shows her his teleportation magic. This greatly reduces the risk during the operation. Chiyome is amazed when she observes Arc become more upset and disgusted by her than she when she looks at the state of the slaves. Arc returned to the building in a matter of seconds and reduced it to ashes. Chiyome only joins Arc after his misadventures with Ariane.
Chiyome is very grateful to Arc for helping her find her brother, who has since died. He also finds a new home to her family. Chiyome is more open to Arc’s antics and enjoys his cooking. Ariane will still lecture her if he gets too much. She is willing to introduce Arc to Hanzo Hattori because she trusts him so much. Chiyome is described to be stern and stoic but is happy when Arc is nearby. According to some, she sees Arc almost as an older brother.
Dillan
Arc is Ariane’s father, an elven elder and has the deepest respect for Dillan. He is the one who, after learning that Arc had helped free elven slaves from slavery, allows him to enter Lalatoya, despite Arc believing he is a man. Dillan quickly realizes that Arc is a valuable asset for the elven cause, and doesn’t mind his curse.
Arc quickly became a Lalatoya resident, and works exclusively for the village (sometimes also with the Jishin clan). Dillan is very grateful to Arc for taking care of his daughter, and helping improve the human realm’s elves. Arc returns from the Dragon’s Crown and confirms that he is an Elf (even though he has a strange appearance with his dark hair, red eyes and brown skin), he joins formally Lalatoya.
Glenys
Arc loves Ariane as her mother and is a great cook, but most importantly, a great fighter. Glenys can give Arc a run for their money in swordsmanship. Glenys will happily give Arc advice on how to improve his swordplay, and she often jokes about Ariane to show support for their relationship. She has a good sense of Arc’s personality and can manipulate him. For example, Glenys influences Arc to travel to the south continent on an elven boat in return for Arc buying tomatoes from there.

Arc loves to eat tomatoes. Arc is an accomplished artist. Arc’s works were displayed in many exhibits in the past. Arc was a single man for many years and he is a master chef. Arc has, admittedly, a poor sense of direction, which led to him being mocked by Ariane. The Web Novel makes Arc an adventurer rather than a mercenary. After subjugating the bandit hideout, Arc meets Ariane. She sees him get out and thinks he’s a kidnapper. They meet in the manga and light-novel when Ariane entraps a group of enslaved kids. Arc is a skeleton and does not experience strong emotions (mostly negative). He seems to be immune from the effects of alcohol. Arc uses the curse-lifting spring to temporally transform into an elven being and remove his helmet when he meets new people, particularly nobility, in the light novel. Felfi Visrotte says Arc reminds of Evangeline the founder of Great Canada Forest. However, it is noted Arc is much more respectful than Eva. Arc often asks himself if his meddling will not change the future. He then forgets his worries. Ariane declares that her meeting with Arc will change her fate (episode 3)One gag in the manga is Eevin, Ariane’s older sister. Every time Eevin displays jealousy towards Arc, the latte feels chills in its spine despite his skeleton nature asking others around him if they can catch cold.
