The fifth season of Stranger Things is finally here and it’s sure to be a hit with fans of the show. The new season picks up right where the fourth left off, with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) back in Hawkins and trying to find her way in a world that’s changed since she was last seen. The new season also introduces a new character, Max (Sadie Sink), who is a friend of Eleven’s and seems to be just as lost as she is. The other characters from the first four seasons return, including Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Joyce (Winona Ryder). There are plenty of exciting new scenes in the new season, including one where Eleven uses her powers to take down a monster that’s been terrorizing townspeople. The creators teased details regarding the final episode of season five, telling SX they knew the ending.
Matt Duffer stated, “It’s possible that it changes. But I think it’s unlikely. Because it’s one of those endings that just feels right and has always felt right. It feels almost inevitable. It feels almost inevitable once you have an idea.
WHEN WAS STRANGER THINGS SEASON 5 OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED?
In a February open letter the Stranger Thingscreators confirmed that season five would indeed be happening. This information was made available on Netflix. The creators also stated that series five would mark the end of Stranger Things.
They wrote this before season 4’s premiere: “Seven years ago, we planned the entire storyarc for Stranger Things. The story was expected to run for between four and five seasons. Although we were unable to tell this story in just four seasons, you’ll soon see that we are heading towards our final season. Season 4 will be the penultimate, and season 5 will be the last.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Netflix seemed to hint at the finale season with an upside down (gedit?). Sign that says “Every ending has its start.” Cryptic.
