The season 2 release date for Cheat Pharmacist is set for October 15th. The show is set to air on Netflix. Netflix has not released any information about the show’s plot or cast. However, it is likely that the show will follow the same format as season 1. The characters from season 1 will return and new characters will be introduced.

It’s also a slice-of-life anime (or iyashikei), that is healing and heartwarming. You may wonder if there will be a second season of the series. The series features 12 episodes that tell multiple stories. We know that Crunchyroll may someday stream this fun-loving series.

When will Cheat Pharmacist Slow Life Season 2 be released?

The renewal prospects for this show’s revival are not high, to be honest. My Anime List reported that the show, from EMT Squared production studio, didn’t do well in terms of ratings when it aired this season. Although the manga contains more chapters than could be used in the series, the show has received mixed reviews from viewers who don’t find the story to be very exciting.

According to the turnaround time for anime TV shows, the 2nd season could be released as early as 2022 if it is greenlit. The release date will be delayed if the series is not renewed in the shortest time possible. Even if EMT Squared does not decide to renew the series, it can still make an OVA (original video animation) to continue the story, flesh the world out, or add depth. You could think of “Cheat Pharmacist Slow Live!” You could explore Reiji’s history as a corporate drone and enter the alternate universe.

EMT Squared has yet to issue any cancellation or renewal news, and it is unclear when or if that will happen.

Who are the characters of Cheat Pharmacist Slow Life? Season 2

Reiji Kirio (Jun Fukushima) is the main character of “The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist”. He is a corporate employee who suddenly finds herself in a new land and makes potions for its inhabitants. Noera (Risae Matsuda), the werewolf creature he meets in the forest after his arrival to the world, joins him. Reiji gives her a potion to help her recover from an attack and earns her loyalty.

Mina (Akane Kumada), a ghost who lives in the house Reiji settled down on, Elaine (Satsumi Matsuda), a wealthy customer, Annabel (Mariko Higashiuchi), a president of a mercenary corp who is dependent to his medications; and Ejiru [Fumiko Uchimura], the demon king who has fallen in love with Noela. (via Anime News Network).

Director Masafumi Sato, Hiroko Kanasugi and animator Etsuko sumimoto make up the staff of the anime. Tomoki Kikuya is the composer. EMT Squared will presumably keep the same cast and crew if the series is renewed. It wouldn’t be the first anime series to change art styles or voice actors between seasons. So it’s difficult to predict what might happen next.

What’s the plot of Cheat Pharmacist Slow Life? Season 25

The plots of “Drug Store in Another World”, an anime that is lighthearted and healing, aren’t too complicated or intense. Reiji, for example, invents super glue, dishwashing detergent and deodorant. Some of his concoctions are more fantasy-oriented, such as an energy potion and a truth potion. He also creates a bandit repellant and an aphrodisiac, some of which can have humorous effects on their users.

The last episode of season one is “Today’s Prescription”: Let’s open a drugstore in another world! Reiji makes a couple of potions to restore dresses and prevent drunkenness to help Elaine. It was not a dramatic ending.

Based on the manga’s next volumes, a second season might see Bibi, a fairy character, and Reiji introduce barbecue to the fantasy world full of strange creatures. If the show isn’t renewed, all of this won’t happen.

Manga/light novel series Drug Store in Another World compared to the anime

The anime TV series’ story is based upon the Drug Store in Another World light-novel series by Kennoji and Shouji Nigou/Matsuuni.

This story, like many other isekai adventures began life as a self-published web novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou site in 2016. The web novel was completed in 2020.

The adaptation of the light novel had a difficult run. Red Rising Books published the first two volumes of the light novel adaptation, but they eventually went bankrupt. Brave Novel took over the license and republished first book with new light novel illustrator. As of June 2021, the light novels had reached Volume 6.

To create the manga adaptation of Drug Store in Another World, Eri Haruno and the original author collaborated. The manga has been serialized in Web Comic Gamma Plus from December 2018 and is currently up to Volume 5, which includes Chapter 27 as of June 2021.

Seven Seas Entertainment in North America is responsible for the official English translation of the light novels as well as the manga.

The English light novels will reach Volume 3 by November 9, 2021. Volume 4 is scheduled for January 18, 2022. The English manga will reach Volume 3 by November 16, 2021. The ending of Drug Store in Another World manga Volume 5 roughly corresponds to anime Episode 6. Pic credit: Eri Haruno

It’s not uncommon for dialogue and plot to be reduced when a light novel series has been adapted into episodic TV format. It is not common for an anime to cut down the dialogue and plot when adapting a light novel series into episodic TV format.

Episodes 11-12 did contain some flashbacks, which showed that Reiji was not enjoying his life in Japan. However, these brief glimpses into Reiji’s past didn’t give the whole context.

Reiji wasn’t truck-kun’ed, according to the books. He was actually heading to work when he became lost in a forest. When he focuses, a status screen that looks like an RPG appears. He also realizes that he has the ability to make medicine.

He soon stumbles upon a bleeding white wolf on the ground. Reiji uses his skills to save the creature. It turns out that Noela is a werewolf girl. Reiji learns from Noela that Kalta is in conflict with the Demon King while he’s on his way to Kalta.

Reiji convinces the manager of the general store to sell his delicious potions upon arrival. Reiji is so successful, he purchases a house to turn into a store.

He meets Mina, a blonde girl who lives in the attic. Mina insists that she is a spirit protector for the house and not a ghost.

This is a summary of seven chapters from light novel Volume 1. It was cut even further as part of anime Episode 12! Although the isekai format isn’t very memorable, it is still strange that anime Episode 1 skipped to the middle. It relegated character introductions and flashbacks to short references, and neglected to mention that the world is at war.

The first six episodes of the anime began to reorder the order of events, jumping back and forth between Volumes 1 and 2 .

Ririka, the Elf’s brother Kururu, was in fact one of the first customers. This is because the elf required eye drops to aid his archery in Chapter 7. Ririka was only introduced a few chapters later. However, Ririka’s story regarding the hunting contest was taken from Volume 1: Chapter 20.

Episode 3’s cooling winter gel actually came from Volume 2: Chapter 15.

Episode 5 also included the story about Mina from Volume 1. Noela eats nuts from the ground is a story that came out of Volume 2: Chapter 10.

Episode 6 introduced Paula’s story from Volume 2: Chapters 1, and 2. Episode 7 skipped a few chapters to introduce Demon Kings Garou Ezil.

Although the anime failed to do a good job of worldbuilding, it did show the beginnings of the Demon King story with an original anime change that had him appearing near the end credits. The Demon King was not properly introduced in the light novels until Volume 2: Chapter 11.

Episode 8 then moved back to Volume 2 Chapter 7 to tell the story of Elaine Valgas’ dad and the body soap. Episode 9 featured the Vivi character. The other story about Harriette Remover was taken from Volume 2 Chapter 20.

The anime did not skip any important character-driven chapters. The anime kept the main story true to the source material, even though it skipped the introductory chapters or some minor medical chapters. It’s predicted that Drug Store in Another World Season 2 will pick up the story in light novel Volume 3. Pic credit: Shouji Nigou

The finale of the first season, Cheat Kusushi No Slow Life Episode 12, was a satisfying conclusion.

There is plenty of material available to make Drug Store in Another World Season 2. Even better, English-only light novels readers can get the anime ahead of time starting in November 2021.

Unfortunately, the manga volume 5 story about Paula’s sticky situation was cut short. Manga readers will have to wait for the anime to catch up with them.
